On another post I saw where someone posted a link to http://www.corral.net/ so I went over there to sign up.
First of all it was not all that easy to register, I got all kinds of notes about no spam and such. And when I answered one of the the questions incorrect, it called me stupid.
So I got set-up and tried to post but I put a link in and it did not like that at all. Also will not download pictures, have to be on the web already.
So does anybody know of a better Fox Mustang site that is friendly? Or maybe there's such a mixed group of people that own Mustangs and this is not possible.
I'm starting a build on a 1988 Coupe and just trying to research a few things.
BTW, I really like this site; friendly people and easy to use.

I've never been there, but I've heard that they're unfriendly to us other Fox-chassis folks...again, that's just what I hear, I could be, and I hope I am wrong.
These are the ones I generally go to... in order of frequency.
www.mustangforums.com (http://"http://www.mustangforums.com")
www.corral.net (http://"http://www.corral.net")
www.stangnet.com (http://"http://www.stangnet.com")
www.allfordmustangs.com (http://"http://www.allfordmustangs.com")
BTW, most boards now-a-days have restrictions on what you can do until you reach preset posting requirement to weed out spammers. Until spammers go away it is something that you will just have to live with.
I go to those as well.

I like to just read through the Lounge section of The Corral. Wow. There's some entertainment for ya right there!!!!! Plenty of drama too, I dunno about some of the members....
X2 for the drama
I read corral all the time for info you just have to read threw the BS, arguing, and non-relating . I guess there’s just too many members. One thing ill give corral is there classifieds there awesome.
i used to go to stangnet.com back when i had my '91 mustang
some decent tech hidden in the archives there:D
http://www.FordvsChevy.com
The corral is the ultimate leader in engine tech. Some amazingly knowledgeable people on there.
I've been on that board over a year now. Doesn't seem nearly as friendly as this board and http://www.460ford.com
Good tech tho. 2005 and later stangs are taking over it seems.
Im a member of mustangforums.com, and there is an enormous amount of idiots on that forum.
Hello
I have been a member of corral.net for awile now and they have always treated me nicely. They have help me find this fourm and many others. They have helped me on my stang, t-bird and my other fords. But like all fourms there is good apples and bad ones.
igiveup
Corral is very good and there is very good info there but I’m not on it enough to know who’s who. It just that’s there so many members and some bad info said that’s what starts the arguing. Some time its not just bad info but opinion over fact.
I still find it interesting and read it second to here.
I did join this one and so far they seem like nice idiots. I just stick to the 5.0 forum.

I've been on corral for a few years. There's the occasional smartass that will yell for you to use the search function, but hey that happens here too. Like someone else said, there is a ton of tech and knowledge on there. The classifieds are pretty good as well.
I joined mustangforums over a year ago during a TCCoA invasion. OMG that was hilarious, but since my dad got his 90 Mustang I've been on there a lot more. :hick:
THERE'S AT LEAST ONE!
just teasing, i dont know why, but i had to say it
I am going to have to agree with this. Although I mostly just browse on that site.
Yeah, this is true as well. I tried telling them about their new idiot(previously banned from here) but they didn't listen me thinks.
The Corral was one of the first sites that I went to for engine tech - that was late in 1999 when I first got the Cougar :hick: Cool Cats & The Corral were my staples for info for several years. There used to be some real good folks there. There are some smart folks there now, but either they rarely post (Kim, Buddy) or they are a friggin' wacko (KatoEngineering). I know who to listen to for each type of tech (Engine, Suspension, Drivetrain etc...) but it's only because I have been posting there for years - it takes time to weed out the morons & wanna be's. I actually had someone banned once for being a moron troll there, though that rarely happens. The best days were when Ed Curtis and Jay would argue about heads (bigger is better?) or one of the 331 vs 347 posts where the idjuts try to argue about they know nothing about.
Jay's active on SBFtech.com as are Woody, Thumper and Joel.
I posted in the 5.0/5.8 section about my car and my engine build and everyone was helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Helped me a lot.
In my experience, if you are looking for really good engine tech: SBFTECH.com has it hands down. Advice you receive is NOT based on conjecture (as in: "I read it in a magazine so this is what you should do",or "my friends brother-in-laws cousin did that, so it should work...". The info you get is based on experience. No shooting from the lip. Plus it's not just a "late model" Mustang site. There are people with all kinds of Ford vehicles, including a contingent from Down Under. It's great place to be educated on some often over looked aspects of engine building (the one's that make the difference between ending up with a turd or a screamer). On SBFTECH it's OK to be ignorant, but stupidity gets flamed pretty quick.
For classifieds, I've found the Corral to be great! I have bought quite a bit of stuff there, without a bad experience. But the tech forums seem to have a lot of "arm chair" experts.
What's great out this site (Fox T-Bird-Cougars) is the "car specific" tech info is all hands on. If you ask how to do something, someone who's done it will walk you through it. The amount of incredibly detailed information that is available for our cars, here and Cool Cats, is a gold mine! It's a great community, with little of the squabling I've seen in other places.
