Just recently purchased a nice 1984 Ford Thunderbird. I paid $400 for it. I put new shocks & struts, radiator, tune-up, rear shoes & wheel cylinders, and installed a set of long tube headers. The car had been parked for 2 years. The body is really good. The original owner had the underside undercoated. I think that saved the car while it was parked. Here are some pics of the beast.

Nice :birdsmily:
Welcome! Gotta love WV! If you ever come to columbus oh. you have to stop by!
Also: What long tubes did you use and how'd you get them to fit?
A coworker had a set of Hedman Headers for a mustang 302. I did some reading and found out that they also fit the Tbird. It wasn't to bad. You definately need a hoist and a tranny jack to do it. Not a driveway install.
Had to unbolt the motor mounts and lift the engine a few inches to get the passenger side header in. The driverside slide right in after removing the shift linkage. The headers are made with an opening in the tubes to run the linkage thru. I had to tweak the linkage in a vise to make it clear the header tube. I think the extra work will be well worth the end result.
Some pics of the Formula.
Looks nice i am not a big trans-am fan but looks like you take good care of it.
What are your plans for the T-Bird? Do you plan to race it or just fix it up a little?
Whatever you do don't paint your car like this unless you want to hear it about it for years and years to come nice rides and welcome.
aw, you know you like the attention
What a paint job can do to make a car stand out is almost amazing.
