Title: Speaker Problems
Post by: Axlehead on October 29, 2007, 09:28:36 PM
Ok so I bought new speakers for my 87 Thunderbird. The car had a standard cassette deck originally nothing fancy, so that means no premium sound as far as I could tell. I installed the new deck and have moved on to the new speakers. But I have hit a problem. The stock speakers have a weird connector with four wires going to it! I have found no adapters for it nor have I ever seen four wires run to a single speaker. What do I need to do hook up the speakers? I was gonna cut and splice but I have no idea what the wires are.

Cut and splice, take two wires and put them together, do the same to the others, put them on the positive and negative on the speaker, if theres no bass they're backwards, its basically trial and error.

I did it for the doors and rear deck and its better than stock, I'm going to run a four channel amp to them once I save up enough moolla.
