Post by: nutwagon on October 22, 2007, 01:03:06 AM
What should a 2000 sable`s maf voltage be normally? I need to know cause my sister`s sable keeps running lean all the time. we fixed it before and it just came back.

I dont have an answer to your question, however i do have a suggestion.

go get her finger nail polish remover,, the cheap stuff , not the stuff with viniger.  You need the clear stuff with Aceton.

remove the MAF sensor and clean off the prop with the nail polish remover.  It leaves little or no residue and makes a great cleaner.

plug it back up , clear the code, run it for a while and see if the code comes back.

Ah thanks a million. I believe that will work. I need to help them fix it before it damages parts again. they spent alot already fixing it once before. my guess is a dirty air filter caused it all.

I`ve narrowed it down to the idle air control valve. whats the voltage supposed to be for that?

The IAC won't cause it to run lean...

Did you clean the MAF as suggested???
