Title: Speedo lights
Post by: jnavin on February 17, 2005, 08:44:39 PM
Just wondering if anyone knew what type of bulbs the fully digital instrument panel takes, and how many?

It takes expensive halogen ones. Thankfully normal "194" bulbs will work just fine.

You can also use any type of LED bulb meant to replace 194's.  I use Varad's version of those in my digital and my buttstuffog dashes. They work pretty good.

Yea but do the led bulbs still dim with the dimmer control?

Yep they do. the dimmer just puts lower current into the bulb, making it dimmer due to lack of full power. The Varad ones have a focusing lense built into the bulb, making them shine forward a little better.  Varad also carries a full line of LEDs for most applications. For example, most bulbs in your car can now be replaced with LEDs.  Varad also makes LED underbody kits for cars that are thinner and easier to hide than traditional underbody Neon kits.  Got to http://www.Varad.com
