A guy JUST down the road from me has an '87-88 Thunderbird sitting in his driveway, exact same color as mine.
This car has dual tailpipes and the 14" 8-hole aluminum wheels. Is it safe to assume this car is probably a 5.0? Could it be a Sport or is it more likely an LX?
I haven't seen this car move all summer, makes me wonder if it even runs or what's going on with it.
I would have to say it's a 5.0, but from what I hear, you have to look at the VIN to decide if it's a LX or a Sport.
Window molding will tell you if its a sport or LX. Sports have blacked out trim like a TC, LX's have chrome.
With dual pipes it *should* be an 88 5.0. I have seen V6 cars at the wreakers with dual pipes so someone could add them......
By simple deduction...
- 1988 5.0 engines in the Cougar/T-Bird had factory dual exhaust
- 14" 8-hole rims were optional on the Sport V8 model
- Black out trim only came on Sports and Turbo Coupes
- 14" 8-hole rims will not clear the TC's 11" front brakes ;)
So...if you see blacked out trim it's a Sport. If you see black/chrome trim then it's probably a base/LX, or a V6 car with duals added.
Looks like an 05 mustang. Maybe with the shelby body kit.
Looks like we've got another live one, guys. :toilet:
