This after i repeatedly asked these guys if they would make them in 4 lug and was told no!
I just swapped to 5lug due to the lack of nice and deepdish 4 lug wheels, oh well not regretting it, as they don't make 4 lug fr500s.....yet!!!!!!!!!!
They make them in gunmetal, black and silver all with polished lips, in 17/8 and 17/9 so their should not be any fitment issues.
Here's a link:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/17-8-9-Silver-Mustang-Cobra-Rivet-Wheels-Rims-79-93_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ43957QQihZ019QQitemZ290166154556QQtcZphoto
Could only post up the 17/8,17x9(deeper lip)was to big of a filesize.
I like those. Great price 2.
They also make the FR500s in 17X10.5s, various 18s as well. I'm going with either 17X9s and 17X10.5s or 18X9s at all 4 corners.
oops
Its been sloved for months now 2007 GT500s come in 4 lug here.
http://www.americanmuscle.com/gt500wheels.html
I want the chrome ones with the NT555 tires i thinks its $1188 last time i looked. Not going to get them till its snows and then clear up for awhile since its almost winter again.
Now tell me those don't look good.................only things that have not done yet is make the new GT4 wheels in 4 lug and the FR500s would be nice in 4 lug aswell.
Top picture chrome wheels
Bottom picture Black Machined wheels
Those are REALLY nice.If I had that kind of cash to spend,I'd take them.
The cheapest package with wheels and tires for those GT500s like the bottom stang are $916 so at that price i may get those in the next 3-5 months. Paint my side mirrors white and get a side air scoop made and add some buick GNX fender grills for looks "might make them work just have to look and see if i want to cut up my car a light more" and maybe a TC front bumper with some upgraded light blubs and then add some mustang emblems and sequntial tail light kit and tint the windows.
Also try and see if someone on this site can make me a nice set of clear croners for my car
Mustang emblems?
Yes 5.0 badges and the new 2005+ GT badges and later down the road "supercharged badges" and then for the back i want a Texas edtion emblem off the newer F-150s on the left side and on the right side a police interceptor badge over the holes in the truck lid for the Factory T-Bird embelm and then a SVO embelm on top of that.
wow, the rims in the second picture look REALLY nice.
I love the machined GT500s. .
You want the decklid to say "Texas Edition, SVO Police Interceptor"? With supercharged badges? That makes no sense and is basically every Ford badge ever in production.
Those are nice, but I'm not sure if I would want to put rims that weigh 32 pounds a piece on my car. A tire mounted on them would likely add another 20 or so pounds.
Pony rims in 16" weigh about 21 pounds or so. My 10 holes most likely weigh about 15.
THe GT500 rims ARE sweet though. Wish they were lighter....
Not really worried about weight for the price of 450.00..
Don't like the gt500s at all that's why i went fr500s instead.
However if you look at the link these are the first DEEP dish 4 lug wheels i have seen and that's kinda what i was getting at, the pic of the one i posted is the 17x8, the 17x9 has a 2 1/4" lip, very similar to my fr500s but mine are 18x10s in the rear.
Also 15" and 16" plain jane rims such as the 10holes and ponies will weigh much less than a styled 17-18" rim it's inevitable as they have alot less aluminum in them.
The weight comment was more for the GT500's. If either rim was under 20 pounds a piece I'd consider it.
thats how i felt but i like the pic of the machined ones on the stang.
PHOTOSHOP?!? anyone?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't the "motorsport" Cobra R's that dominator posted been available in four lug for years?
I' know I've seen them on ebay for a long time, and they were on there when I was dreaming about wheels a couple years ago.
Yes, but not in deep dish like those.
Hey he is a pioneer...... the first guy on here to rice out and ruin a T-bird....:hick:
But it is his car, and he is free to do as he wishes to it. :(
If your gonna do crazy stuff and build a car with no budget and sometimes nobody that has even tired a few things you plan on doing then you just gotta work your @$$ off and get the money and get stuff done.
1WLD BRD-might be right for now but when its done it could look better than he or me or anyone else ever would of seen. With the pioneer thing i won't be mad about it i just sometimes think of myself and the only one crazy enough to take a risk to build and make what i want and not what other want me 2 have.
Also Better to Rice it then sell it...............You had a nice T-Bird but i guess when your not working on a car on a almost weekly basis you sell it. One of the nicest looking T-Birds i have ever seen why did you go off and sell it.
Also as far as weight goes the new GT500s mustang are not light at all and either our the 87-88 T-Birds so forget weight and forget wise spending i want them and someday i will work hard and buy me a set. We don't all live forever and we don't all live on budget because i know i spend 2 much money sometimes but oh well if it makes the car a little more nice or custom or one of a kind then why the hell not spend some more money.
As far and embelms go yes thats almost all of them but i did take a few off the list..................and most people now either know i painted the car like that or ask if its a special one that ford made so with that being 50/50 and it being called a Mustang some days and even a charger one day i don't care what it is really as long as its my car and bluit with the parts i want in the end.
Not the end all wheel for 4 lugs but sometimes options are slim up intill now when more nice wheels can be made in 4 lug.
Um I think everyone but a honda driver would differ from that first statement, and as for selling my bird that is why I sold it, was under it more then in it. let me give you the senario....
I bought this car as a 3.8L AOD car off BirdBrain, for $400. had ALL the parts laying in the garage to do everything I did to it, then did the body work and paint. Might have had $2500 invested after a year or two of POUNDING the hell out of it. The motor was knocking and the tranny was ready to drop a gear. Asked $3500 for it, got $3000. made a profit and made a kid happy. But yeah I do miss my bird. Hoping someday he calls me and asks me if I want to buy it back....
But again, it is your car and Make it how you want. Enjoy it man, no matter what ANYBODY says (including me, LOL). Hell look at my decals on the cougar, nobody liked them either but I dont care either...
Sorry about that last post, I was lacking some sleep LOL
i was lacking a lot less sleep than even you the decals look fine with me its nice you did not go overboard with it let me go take a picture of my moms sport trac really fast and show you sometimes 1 or 2 does not mess up a car.
Heres my dads 69 mustang has a 331 with a Z-cam and Roush stage 2 heads and custom 9" and many many more things. Also heres my moms sport trac got the vinyl racing stripes and bed cover and side decals like the same week we got it and it had tint on it when we got it the decals i did not like at 1st but they look kind of cool.
That's not deep dish, that's the standard wheel (9" wide) that's been out for at least a couple years.
They do have the "deep dish" 10"/9" set in four lug as well which has also been out for awhile.
I know these things were on ebay over a year ago. In fact I posted on here about them at least once.
^ he knows that was the wrong pic, the deep dish pic is too big to post on here...:flame:
Let's see more wheel options!
Here's a wheel option for all of you: http://www.ronalusa.com/wheels/archive/bear.html

Well, this one comes in a 4-lug...
Wait a minute, nevermind. I think I'm totally wrong.
When I posted about those "motorsport" R's, I was pining over them because they were 5 lug. I think.
At any rate, I REALLY want a set of those in anthracite with a machined lip, but my car needs a lot of other things before new wheels :(
Red lx,goto the link i posted or search morchen and you will see that these are indeed deep dish with a 2 1/4" lip on the 17x9.
I only posted a pic of the 17x8 because the pic i took off the net for it was to big and i couldn't be bothered to resize it.
Hence i posted a link.
These where not on the net a year ago.
I called the company(oe wheel)and asked them if the could make them in 4 lug instead of 5 and they said no.
Then sure enough 6 months after my call they did,o well.
Again i can assure you that these are not the standard 17x9 cobra r's.
These are just like the 5LUG 17x9 17x10.5 deep dish r's but in 4lug and with no rubbing or lip rolling issues, pit them on and go.
Who likes these wheels?

To be serious this time (nobody commented on my bear wheels :() I like Ansen Sprint's
(http://asp.americanracing.com/dealerline/blackimages/mega/mA69.jpg)
They even come in 4-lug 17s if you so desire.
Both of the last two are OK, but I think there are better options.
Those are nice - very similar to the wheels I had on my GTO as a kid :D
You know those have a 0mm offset which will push the wheel out 1/2" which might not be good whereas I'm lowered - though I like the wheels!
for the price not bad

My first Photochop ever - what do you think of the look on my car?
Before view:
Looks better than your current setup IMO.
I tried the sprint's on for size :D
(http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e360/Domeskull/coug_sprint.jpg)
I loooooove the Sprints. I've been trying to talk myself into them. I noticed the offset too, so it's been stopping me, but my car isn't lowered. The wheels in the other photochop look great too. If their offset works then I wouldn't look any farther. I don't think you will find anything better. I like a little fatter 5 spoke with a nice lip, just like those.
The first photoshop is 17 x 9 with 6" bs (25mm offset). They should be OK, though I am not 100% sure in the front. I use wider cross-section drag-radials in the rear on same 9" rims.
A few more mustangs 2 look at.
I think the black Stang with the Shelbys needs some wider tires...IMO an im still not sure about those rims... the center is out to far for me. I plan on getting 03's for my car... someday
I always liked the Cobra R rims, wish they had them available when I had my '88 Thunderbird.
Those wheels are nice, but I just can't stand to look at a 5-spoke wheel with 4 lug nuts. It's just too dissonant.
the Cobra Rs are everywhere so if there not powdercoated or something i am sick of seeing them on every ford car ever made. The03-04 Cobra wheels still have time before everyone has a set of them and face the GT 500s are nice if you save up a little more cash.
If so, they might be too small for our cars.
