I flew up Saturday and drove her straight through (16 hours) on Sunday. Talk about wham bam thank you ma'am...

I know squat about this car and it's potential. I am not planning anything major anytime soon. I am currently restoring my '66 mustang and that is all my marriage can stand:D
What should I do with it to give her a little more power/handling/braking? For example on my '97 I added underdrive pulley, computer chip (Ford chip), K&N, 1 step cooler plugs, J-Mod on valve body, H&K springs, Tokiko shocks and 2004 mustang front brakes. Any cheap mods for this one?
Thanks for your ideas. I have to go know, I'm hearing voices...sounds like my 351W in the garage is trying to crawl under the hood of that 5.0...
first of all Welcome to the forum and make yourself at home :D about your questions there are alot of things that you can do with your bird it just depends on where you want to go with it and how much you want to spend. if you do alittle looking around and reading you will find all kinds of different mods and performance upgrades that you can do.
Welcome to the board this place has a unique way of answering any questions that you may have. lol
Kind of like at the eye doctor today...better, worse, better worse?
Welcome. If you want a good website to look at, take a look at CoolCats.net, there are a bunch of tech artices/write-ups on these cars.
Thanks, coolcats is...well...cool!

This is a thinly veiled attempt to get you to bring doughnuts. :flip:
Welcome to the board. I'm sure a stroll through the tech threads will get you started.

Welcome to the board :D Now where are the goodies :D
Hello and Welcome!
Thanks, I still have not cleaned it yet. It's been sitting in the garage for years with only a few hundred miles a year. The last Pa. inspection, Feb. 07, the guy asked her "Where do you drive this thing? It only went a couple hundred miles". My Aunt says, "Why just to get ice cream and to see you!" HAHA
I'll snap a few soon, really...
Welcome, and don't mind the pic ws they get restless real fast!
lol
updated with pics
HEY!!!! That's MY line. :beatyoass:
Welcome, Vinnie gets no snacks. But for a bag of Chili & Cheese Fritos I'll tell you everything I know.
The paint looks to be in great shape. If you want to give it a little more sporty look then put you some rims on her. You will not believe the difference that can make.
welcome to the board,, very nice car and price range.
like said, coolcats.net has some great wrtieups but there are also many here as well.
us cats and birds mingle together here ,,, odd isnt it?
welcome. First thing you can do is drop that car off at my house. But bring coffee and doughnuts. Ok seriously, I see you have the grey interior i've been looking for....so they DO exist.
Alright, this is getting aggravating! I absolutely CANNOT find an affordable Fox car anywhere near me. You guys finding these fairly nice cars for ~$500 are just killing me! I look on Ebay at least every couple days for '83/'86 Cougars and '83/'88 T-birds (sorry, but I really don't care for the '87/'88 Cougars), and they're all either too expensive or too far away, usually both. What am I doing wrong? It's probably a blessing in disguise since I have no $$ at the present time, 'cause if a car were to show up I'd probably do something stupid like buy it and tell the mortgage company to go do something unspeakable to themselves.
A note to anybody within 150~200 miles of 42431; if you have a running, non-rust bomb of a car you are considering selling in the near future and aren't going to ask a fortune for, keep me in mind. Give me a few months to get caught up on some bills, but please let me know. I appreciate it.
By the way, 88fiveo, nice car and good price.
Fordman3
thanks, I'm gathering parts to convert it to almost ho status. Not sure about putting a cam in it at this point, but I have to take off the intakes to clean/replace some screen under the pcv system feed? Anyway, if I have to take them off, why not put better parts back on? I know it's not a lot of power, maybe 20-40 horses with the parts I'm looking at...
