Can some one tell me how to remove the horn button/assy please. I have a 87 Bird with what I would call the standard wheel with cruise buttons if that matters. The bird emblem is a tad loose which drives me nuts so I would like to take out the assy and re-attatch the emblem correctly before resorting to super glue. As always thanks in advance.
Push in (horn will sound, unless you remove the fuse or the battery cable), hold, and twist to the left less than a quarter turn. The spring will push the horn pad outward.
Thanks, figured it was simple but best to ask before breaking.
I prefer my method:
- Begin driving car
- Arrange for another car to cut you off unexpectedly
- Scream "FAAAAAAAAAAAK"
- Side right hand down and to the left and clumsily stab at the horn button
- Watch as horn button gets pressed down, rotates, and disengages
- Scream "FAAAAAAAAAAAK" some more
- Clean pants

Ahhahahahaha!! Now, that is funny, but I think Jeremy ripped that off! I believe his method is a WORD FOR WORD copy of the method outlined in the 83-97 Thunderbird Chilton Repair Manual!
Edit: Only appears in "Printed In Mexico" version
