are you going to blend the tip of that into the hood? it kinda looks like one that gets held on with 3M tape right now. not sure what to think about it but im sure it will look good after your done or get it flat black
actually it is the scoop from a 79 Camaro. I had to chop off the bolt bosses, then cut out a hole right under where the scoop goes down, and attach it to the hood with Seam sealer. Thinking about molding it in, but I learned my lesson with the first hood I built. everytime you close the hood the vibrations will lead to cracks.
Nice!
Is seam sealer the only thing adhearing it to the hood?
Will this be functional or looks?
Yep Mikey, I'd say it's functional. Looks BA on there too I might add. RJ, you keep this up, and I'm gonna have to send you the hood off of my Jeep and a good chunk of change and have you fab something up for me.:D
well, it is done.... For now.... And no, it isn't functional, but I could probably make it so. especially if it was carbed... I have to redo it because I did a py job sanding it, and my paint gun screwed up, so I will let the paint cure and resand it properly and paint it again.

Hey RJ, think you can make one like this?

Kinda one step farther then what was on the blue bird, and an SVO style, but I like it. Yours just kinda reminded me of it
I know the guy that did that. Thats a factory svo hood scoop grafted into a factory tbird hood. all steel
he has hundreds of hours in that hood, still has the car too, but its being parted. That hood is going on a customer car.
Yeah, if I could find a wrecked SVO to cut the scoop out of I could. That is what I thought the camaros had, I was going to cut it out and weld it in, but maros use a bolt on style.
I like it!!
That looks pretty sweet!
i'm just glad you didn't keep it the original reddish color. looked a little too much like a particular part of the female anatomy...
can you get a pic of the front of the hood right where it meets the header panel? i want to see how it looks as far as the tip of the scoop goes. i like it alot more now. the red really threw me off. think i might go grab on of my flat hoods an think of something....
Thats really cool looking. I like playing with hoods. How did you attach it? I used 3m panel bond and a mountain of bondo. yours is clean. probably lighter than mine too lol. Thats why I want to cut the cowl off a real 69 camaro hood and weld the thing on there and metal finish it.
I wonder how that could look on a TC hood?
Yea, but I'm just wondering. And I suck at Photoshop.
Ahh the need to photoshop everything, TV is ruining your imagination isn't it? :P
Well I can picture it in my head and it wouldn't look right. too much would be going on in the center portion of the hood.
Yeah, TV is ruining everything:bricks1: I was thinking like right behind the headlights? Or would the scoops be to big?
to big
So when are you going to take orders and make costum hoods for us i'm sure you will make some good money whats the price.
hahah, thanks guys, yeah another scoop on a TC hood would look alittle ricey. I wasn't intending to sell these really, but I would for the right price.... I am sick of tripping over the ram air one, so I would probably sell it for a few bills, ($200) this one I would probably let go for around $100-$150 I didnt like the way it turned out......
I like it, that was the style scoop i origionally wanted...too many cowled fox bodys out there.
i like that it looks good........shipping would kill though
