I read on NATO that the '87-'88s were 3415 lbs with the T-5. What about the '83-'86 T-5 cars? I know it's probably really close but does anyone have a number?
Atleast 40 less I'd think because of the 7.5" insted of the 8.8
take your car down to a s metal place or a track that has a scale, and weigh it yourself. everybody's weight varies.
A 7.5" weights 40 lbs less than a 8.8"?
Thats what I was told/heard
Its been documented that the 8.8 weighs less than 10 lbs more than a 7.5 with no axles, brakes, or oil.
Also 83-86's weigh way less than an 87-88... like, 3000-3100lb range.
No its only about 10lbs.
If thats all an 83-86 weighs... I wana see what I got mine down to now;)
As for the 8.8>7.5" in weight, I'm only going by what I saw on coolcats. If it's really closer to 10 LBS then it has been corrected in my memory bank
i've never seen two cars of the same year/make/model weigh in the same.

aside from the bitching, there's actually some good info in that thread.
thanks for everyones input!
id like to know what my 86 weighs
maybe when i get the time ill head down to a truck stop(weigh in station i mean) and find out:hick:
Weighed my 88 auto TC with every option except leather and moonroof. On a certified truck scale and a half tank of gas it was 3360lbs. Not too bad for the size of the car, I think.
No not bad at all.
I wish I had weighed my (Zero-option) 87 TC before the engine /trans came out and the 460/c-6 went in.
I know for a fact that with the 460/ C-6 and iron head/iron water pump/iron exhaust manifolds and with stock T/C wheels, it now weighs 3400 lbs with a 1/2 tank fuel. (w/o driver)...FWIW

coolcats has cougar wights on the site. Didn't realize the 86's were the heaviest. I would imagine the weights for the birds are similar if not the same. I'm sure the 87-88' Turbo coupes are bit different though.
83' 3099 lbs.
84'-GS, LS -3065 lbs. XR7 - 3,053 lbs.
85'-GS, LS - 3084 lbs. XR7 - 3100 lbs.
86'- LS - 3237 lbs. XR7 - 3485 lb.
87'- LS - 3133 lbs. XR7 - 3379 lb.
88'-GS, LS -3083 lbs. XR7 - 3169 lbs
Wish I was home now then! I coulda sworn the weight was listed on the window-sticker somewhere.... I think mine's in the realm of the 3400 lb range, maybe slightly less.
Whoops, I take it back . . it's not on the sticker. Though I coulda sworn that one of my cars had the weight listed - maybe on some other dealer-issued sheet or something.
How the eff did the XR-7 gain almost 400lbs between '85 and '86, lose over 100lbs the next year, and then another 200lbs for '88?
And how did an 86 XR-7 weigh more than an 87-88 TC? There just isnt as much car there.
Cause those figures aren't correct...
Anyone know how correct Eric's numbers are on his site......Eric???
I've found this site http://www.crashtest.com it has every car ever produced with the vehicles weights also....it says my 84 thunderbird is 3458 ...(wonder if that is with my big ass in it..lol,lol,lol,) 6ft, 1in. 225 lbs. :D :D :D
I think those weights are either as tested with dummies and whatever else in the vehicle or typical loaded weights. I looked through the big list of vehicles on there and they just dont weigh that much empty.
