$170 is lift off, need to add $100 to use your hinges.

Good to know where to get them though, Thanks for the info Carl

It's too bad they only make cowl hoods. I guess they could be modified though. Otherwise, they look pretty nice and the price isn't too bad.

they said they make the lift off ones "made to order" so I assume they might be able to make a custom hood for you as long as you have the money. ;)

RJ (1WLD BRD) did. And 5.8fastcat made one, but its not a typical style cowl, its the body lines raised up.

I've seen the Champion Fiberglass hood in person...looks to be pretty nice. The reinforcements seem to be adequate for a street car. I did not get to check things like thickness though.

The VFN hoods are new to me. Liking the extended hood...that's gotta look killer. But a 5" rise...wow...hope you're tall. ;)

and they look ridiculous on a street car. it's almost like keeping a roll of quarters in your pocket. :bs:

yes it came from them it was a custom built hood for a local limited street car, mime is a pin on hood and it fits well for it to be a race only hood.

is that a roll of quarters in your pocket, or are u happy to see me?

why are all the hoods like 4-5 inch cowls? can u find any 1-2 inch ones still being made? much more then 2 is stupid, especially if u dont need that clearence.

What are you making the mold from?  As I would like to make one for mine so I can make fiberglass ones too.

You make the mold out of fiberglass also.

I need to get a pic of the hood now that it is painted and aligment is alot better.

Plan on putting aluim inserts in the hood to retain all the factory hingess and latches.

thats what I thought.  Thats going to get expensive.  There is a local guy here that will make moldings of any hood you bring him for $400 so maybe I will just take it to him, I just dont want him making a double of it and selling them on me.

I like it. I would be interested if you do decide to sell some hoods. Please post some pics now that you have it painted and aligned.

Id go for a plain TC hood, just in fiberglass. No cowl, just weight savings. I dont care for cowls. If it HAD to have a cowl, no more than an inch or two.
