Post by: dudeman351 on September 16, 2007, 11:04:04 AM
heres the deal. a customer at the shop offered me $1100 for the motor, trans, computer and harness from the T/C. should I take it? I want to do another turbo fox but that won't be until next year at least. what do y'all think?:dunno:

Depends on how far you are willing to go to find another one that has the engine and stuff already in it?  How common are they, and how much would one cost?  $1100 for the parts you mention could be a good down payment on another TC down the road.

i was thinking more on putting it in the sport. it needs alot of work. but the 4 wheel discs and rear axle, the raven interior is going in. full HO conversion rebuild the suspension. fix the a/c. etc etc etc.

$1100 could go a long way to building the sport.  And you can still look for a TC next year.  Matter of fact, there's one up here for $200.  that's a $900 profit and you still end up with a parts car.  (it's rusted out pretty bad).  of course deciding to rebuild the engine would consume that $900.

Take it.You really can do a lot for that money on the Sport.I'm building one myself. If you look around, take your time getting parts, and hunt the yards, you can probably get everything for that money, plus a few more bits.Like I said,I know.

I'd take it before he realizes he can get a whole dang car with money to spare.

cool i'll do it then. the funny thing is i'm still going to build the motor and install it in a 79 mustang pace car wire it and all that good stuff. so i guess next week i'm pulling a motor.

Are those 2.3t heads or are they 2.3 heads that will work? There is a difference. I have many heads that I can make work or will work. But I only have 1 True turbo head that is good. I do have 3 that are cracked too.
