$2,000
and of course the shops are quoting me $6,000 (For the Eclipse)
For right now the check is made out to me and my lien-holder but that is soon going to change. I really would like the check to be made out to me but unfortunately I am probably going to have to end up picking a shop to do the work.
I am thinking if I show the insurance guy the $6,000 estimates and ask him if he writes the $2,000 to me and I can do the body work he might just do that. What do you guys think?
It shouldn't matter who does the work. The lien-holder just needs to see the car and make sure it is fixed. I had this happen years ago. I was worried too. Took it to them they came out and looked at it siged the check and sent me on my way.
the problem with that is the lien-holder is not in the area and require a receipt of work. Also, they would write the company a check and not give me mine. It would make no sense that way because allstate could do the same thing here.
Seems to me if you got quotes for $6000 you should have a check for $6000.That's the way it works. If the insurance company wants to argue about vehicle value tell them they need to total the car and pay for another one.
I was thinking the same thing....
You should have $6,000 but at least they should give you $5,000+.
