Looking for a 1985, 1986, or 1987 3.8 V6 Cougar/T-Bird computer...obviously in working condition.

I dont know much about ecu's but I have one out of an 85 bird 5.0 if it will help you any if not oh well.

Graham, I belive the 5.0 and 3.8 computers are different. How I'm not sure though. I think a different fuel curve or somthing due to the 5.0 needs more then a V6 or something

I have an '88 3.8 computer, and the original '84, and I know the issues with each. Hence the reason I need an '85-87 3.8 computer. Doesn't matter which one of those three years, as long as it is in working fashion.

The '86 added Adaptive Strategy
The '87 added FMEM (or LOS, I can't remember which)

If you're going to replace it, might as well replace it with the best available.

Anything > 84. ;)

There is a slight hesitation with the '84 that has a good chance of being computer related, so I just need another computer to try out. I don't trust '84 computers. So...if someone has an '87 computer, cool...otherwise I'll be happy to just get a working one, no biggie.

'84 and '85 computers will be functionally the same.

5.0 ECUs are incompatible with 3.8 ECUs.
