When I was at the yard today,I saw a FILA (The Thunderbird, not Mikey)on the way out.I had to get my son's art supplies to him,so I was in a rush to leave.I did manage to remove the badges from it.It looked decent from what I saw.I'm hoping to go back in the a.m. to get a little more involved with it.It was intact (don't have any clue what's happening under the hood),aftermarket py wheels, and I didn't pay much attention to the interior. No worries,I can't name any T-Bird or Cougar owners out here.I thought a FILA had black on the bottom, this one was more of a dark grey.I haven't ever seen one up close and personal.Anyway,More news in the morning.
O.K.,I just called my friend to check the car out,he says it has dark cloth interior,a white grille in the back seat (I didn't think it had one),5.0,py dual exhaust, aftermarket 4bbl intake with a carb adapter and 2bbl carb.I'll go see what's salvageable in the morning.
any luck on those parts I asked about?
Which parts?Tell me again.I left my notebook at work in my locker.
Sounds like a neat find
I suppose it's pretty cool.I personally like the '87/'88 better.
did you throw spark plugs through all the windows?
Not yet,I was in a hurry.Wait til tomorrow, spark plugs will fly like rockets.
Any pics?
One of my favorite junkyard pastimes is throwing stuff 5 rows over.
No pics.I was there this morning on a mission, and once I got what I needed,I left.too freakin' hot to hang around, plus,I had other things I had to do.
But your going today for pics right? If you can cover every square inch of that car. All ID plates, vin number, door tag, close up of the colors, the tail lights... everything.... PLEASE!!!
Correct.....if it doesn't rain.
man, at the pick-a-part here in houston, they have 2 roller 351w longblocks for $256 out the door. that includes the $50 core. they just had a 50% off sale for labor day, and i missed it. hopefully they'll have that same sale around thanksgiving. (they did last year.)
32, where in houston are you. I used to live in pearland till 00' when I moved up to Ohio. Totally irelevent to the thread but I just noticed. Sorry Vin
northeast of houston
The Fila is already gone.Bill (owner of the yard) said a man from Wichita Falls,Texas picked it up with a flatbed Monday.Bill said the guy was really excited about picking it up.Come to find out,the white wheels for it were in the trunk,no tires, one was suffering from curb rash.More complete than I had thought.Alledgedly, the new owner is going to return the car to mostly stock.Glad to see the car saved instead of parted out.The search for cool Fox cars continues.
Makes me happy. Someone saved it!!!!!
They had a 87-88 TC at the one off of I-45. I forgot to grab the front swaybar and rear axle (Mustang project) and now I dont want to with the sale over.
Dammit.
Sell him the badges for $50. :)
yea, that's the one i saw them at. the one off northville, behind Fry's.
