Title: Brake Booster
Post by: 88tbirdproject on February 11, 2005, 09:14:43 PM
Hi. I need to know which brake booster\master cyl I can use that will not hit tall valve covers on a 460. I've heard of thunderbirds using mustang ones, and mustangs using t-bird ones so i'm confused..  :dunno: Hopefully someone who's done a 460 swap can help me out.
Thanks.

Car Craft Jan 1992, 83 T-Bird with a 466....

By swapping a Mustang brake booster for the corresponding 'Bird part, he gained enough clearance for the driver's side valve cover.

I think our boosters are bigger, with a single diaphragm, while Mustangs use a narrower unit with dual diaphragms.

Thanks for the info.. Will ANY fox mustang booster work? and do you know if the valve covers were stock-style or tall?
