I just ran the cat at the 1/4 for the first time atfer I got my fibgerglass and the nos and did horrorable wheel hop from 1st to 2nd so I have a heavy duty sway bar and trac kit coming but I figure I had the right end spinning half the time so I need to lock them up bad so anyone have any idea? i found a chrap load of Mustang 8.8 rears with 4.10 gear and lsd would that fit? also would a 5.0 (the gear it's 5 somthing.) lsd 9inch soild rear axle be too much of a pain in the butt to fit in? I got a bud selling it out of his mustang he just poped his engine too much noz and blower if you know what I mean.
First of all, what is "lsd" that you speak of.Get A stang rear with the gears you want and bolt it in.Done.You can always get an 8.8 and install a new set of gears,31 spline axles and an axle girdle.
lsd, limited slip differential. He means a trac lok.
Also known as a posi trac but thats a chev term 2 wheels spin instead of one
4.10 goes good with an AOD
You have to forgive me I was a chevy guy before this.. I was young
Thank you, I'll get me some mustang rear-ends.
Uh, what car do you have? What's in there now?
We're not mind readers......
And another thing....why not take the time and actually look through the several other threads on using a Mustang rear axle in one of these cars?
sorry I should have said before I have 1996 cat with the 4.6L and the stock rear end 8.8 inch with a aod. I have a larger t/b and upper intake, I have a set of headers set of cutouts. fiberglass hood and my new 100 shot of Noz. did the lower end of the block crank and pistons.
Yes, it's always good to clarify...especially since this is a Fox forum and not an MN-12 one.
The gears/diff from the Mustang 8.8 would work in the MN-12 IRS 8.8 housing.
noz.........
I guess Nitrous Oxide Systems and Zex merged...:toilet:
