i think its causing it to fall on its face when i let off the throttle its a crushed 1st gen mitsu bov
Well yeah...you are venting metered air and thus causing the mixture to go rich.
how do some get away with it
They don't complain about it.
Would switching the VAM to blow through help?
If the BOV was after the VAM, then no. Still the same situation. Putting it before might cause some odd door flutter though....
Make it recirculating (BPV) and not have the problem.
I'm speed density now, so I use a BOV w/o an issue.
I believe gumby has a BOV that doesn't cause the stalling issue. Maybe he will chime in.
It's a given that it will fatten up the air/fuel mixture when it vents....that is what is causing the bog/stall.
on dsm's its a hit or miss mine didnt have the the problem when vented to open
do you have to change the wiring when that is done
I would recomend that you recirculate the BOV so it is a BPV. I know it is some work but if done right it does a lot more good. I ran mine as a BOV for a week. Had a slight stumble, Then I worked out the tubing to recirculate the air. BIG TIME difference. I routed it so that the air coming out of the BPV when straight into the Turbo inlet. With the added air blowing through there it helps keep the turbo spooled up. With the BOV I had 0psi after a shift. With the BPV routed like I have it 5psi after a shift. That is after the clutch is released and I push on the gas. So I would much rather have 5psi to build on instead of 0psi. I also have none of the stumble like before.
