Ditch the flex fan. Those are dangerous, and stressful to your waterpump. You have the 3G, put an e-fan on it.

I never have understood why one would put an upgraded alternator, put in a kickin' sound sytstem, then put on underdrive pulleys.
The power difference is minuscule.
I apologize for not contributing anything positive to your thread.

the BBK pulleys have been there for over a year then the sound system came next and right after the 3G. Thanks JeremyB for being nice about that you would be right if it was done it that order but oh well a nice car ends up taking lots of money so i can't just sitting around wishing i did it the cheaper way. Some things you get cheaper on your car some things you end up spending more you just hope it kind of evens out for the most part.
I still owe $699 on the car should be paid off for the 2nd time in less than 3 weeks. That is why i have not put all my money in it yet untill its my car again. So next month i get a new cd player new PA performance mini high torque starter sequntial tail lights if i want them 2 more gauges and a piller pod new exhuast system and hopefully the back window cleaned up and tinted and then i might have enough money left to order borla tips and then get my sub frame connectors welded on.
Those subs are Swiss Audio 8" rated at 150 RMS and 300 Max which are hooked up to the 460 amp.
Oh when you asked around those gauges it had paint cleaner sprayed on it but i need to get some white paint and redo it sure it looks bad but you never know how long you may have a car so you just take pictures along the way even if it does not look picture perfect it still shows work is being done to you end up closer to the final finished product.
With my job now wasting money on most of the time i should have $1,100+ a month to spend on mods saving money i could have close to $1,400 to spend on my car that does not even count GAS prices or INSURANCE.

I ran a 3G in a Turbo Coupe, with every electronic gizmo possible, and the lights never once dimmed. I had a big electric fan, the ABS, PRC, heat blasting, every possible thing, and the lights never once dimmed. You can put an E-fan on there, free up some power, and be a little more safe under the hood.

I work at a parts store and every one of those flex fans have a bright orange sticker that say they aren't for any motor larger that a 4.1L That alone should be enough to get rid of it. Get yourself a nice low profile fan/s and a controller you will like it much better.

Some of the flex fans are good to 10k rpm.
The black paint helps alot.

Amarillo had not had a drag strip in almost 2 years i was just trying to get used to lining up and watching the Tree again. I did not stall up the car to 2200 or power shift it and my best time was at night with everything turned on except my AC. There was 1000+ people out there and its the best turn out the track has had in years.
Just added 2 extra pictures avoid posting 100s of times on the same topic.
Also Amarillo Texas is around 6,000 feet above sea level which does not help a lot with times.

Traded the LED light kit for a 12.5" SUB about to go buy 2 more gauges and get a a piller pod.
Bottom link for boost gauge i know its not needed at this point for my car except to fill a hole in the a piller pods once installed.
Also i had a part not listed here anymore or 2 of them it hooks up to 4 gauges and can change the LED color form blue to green and has a dim controller. i got 2 of them for $10 at autozone a few weeks ago knowing i would soon add some more gauges.

Heres a picture of the gauges and the color changing remote was only $5 they used to be about $50 before they stop making them 1 or 2 months ago. that you can also dim the gauges if you want.
Both A-pillers are painted black now and the 4900 is very nice for the price but i wanted the 5900 for the display but that would be a waste just for a display and make it look nicer to steal.

Have you tested their accuracy? How do you know they aren't accurate? thats like somebody said sunpro isnt a good brand.... Check the package and look at who made them for sunpro, and Faze.
They are actually a decent brand. I used sunpro gauges in my blue cougar and checked there accuracy at my dad's shop, with the shops gauges and they are accurate. So unless you have data backing up the claim, dont state that they are inaccurate, just because you dont like them.
Title: My Aerobird GT-Car got wreck lady pulled out in front of me.

Actually there's quite a bit of data on those particular models, hence why they are out of production.
I actually quite like cheap off-brand gauges, I think paying $100 each for gauges is wrong when it's fairly easy to get pretty accurate.
Again, it's not the brand, but rather those particular models/model line.

um ok, whats up with the attached pics? They have nothing to do with either thing you posted about???? Reminds me of Fila....
my buddy is running those heads on his stang. He claims he runs low 12's with it. I cant say it does or doesn't because he never goes to the track. The car is quick but I dunno. My white stang would run mid 12's and I can run door to door with him, so it is possible.

Ok sorry old pictures just random today my gauge bezel black rings came in and i just swapped them out looks a lot cleaner.
the heads are Assembled and only 2 months old the harmonic blancer came off this guys mustang and hit the fan and a few other things he wants to buy a trickflow top end kit so i think i want to buy them for the price $600 is kind of hard to go wrong with some GT-40X heads.
Also i am about to order me a E-Fan heres a link to it $70 and free shipping not a bad deal.
Also with the 4900 VS the 5900 i did not at the time see why i should spend $40 more and the display is nice but crime rate has been up lately and its mostly stolen cars and stolen car parts......So if it keeps someone form breaking the windows its worth not always having the nicest stuff money can buy. The car is always parked outside and someone last night looked thorugh my dads 1969 mustang and his 1992 F-150 and someones honda down the street.
Waiting on the news with the K-memeber being made for our cars.
Heres the pictures of the gauges with the black bezels more stuff soon to come.
P.S. sorry for ran pictures just trying to make up for the fact i had been working on the car 2 years before i joined or made a Thread for the car and this site is more up to date than my Cardomain.

The car stock was all white with a blue pinstripe looked nice untill it started showing minor surface rust.

That was not even more than 1 days tip money so like i really care just wanted to see what it looked like for 2+ years got a few extra dollars and did it.
Can't sit around all day thinking about what this might look like just gotta try it. I never look out the sunroof anyway so the stripes don't bother me at all.

Thank you someone understands the car when i got it was white with blue pinstripes and little small surface rust spots showing up everywhere slowly.
The more mods the more i takecare of the car and don't want to sell it or wreck it or just forget all about it all together.
when the car was on the lift for the trans-cooler the lift broke and sprayed tranny fuild all over the drivers side took a mini lift and some stacking of stuff to get my car down. My mechanic was nice enough not to write out a ticket i still paid him since the car was not messed up and i got a free car wash so there still is nice people in this world. Paint is staying next car i will paint like a Blue angel or A-10 Tank killer or yellow with black stripes and 03 cobra rims i got more ideas those just seem to be the ones that stand out.

Did you ever get a wideband? Is there a shop in Ol' Yeller that dyno tunes?
Have you considered putting a TC nose on the car? Just a thought, you could run a single stripe from the nose over the car. You could do the same thing with two stripes, but a single stripe might work better with what you're trying to do.

A TFS stage 2 with:
What heads? What size valves? What valve springs? What is the WOT shift point RPM's?
Judging by your sig, you need quite a bit of other supporting hardware not only to effectively run that cam, but to run it at all!
BTW, 3000 stall or more.... NOTHING LESS!! I'd go 32-3400.
If you don't want to upgrade that other stuff don't bother with that Stage 2 cam.....

Stock E7 heads got a stock AOD and 2200 stall for now and it was only $50 and i got to get the head gaskets upgraded before i install the vortech S-Trim and i will get the transmission rebulit before i swap the cam.
next year i am going to save up for this
new Boss 302 block AFR 185cc heads 1.7 roller rockers Steeda Cam #20 canton racing oil pan all steel forged everything 12-16psi vortech pulley SCT chip and tune
So as far as that trick flow stage 2 cam goes only be used for about 10-16months then i am going to sell my 306 bottom end with the cam and whatever else i don't need. Also i had like 75dollars in change laying around the house and its not like i don't own 700+ video games so i thought i might as well buy a nice cam in good shape for $50 hell i still will have money left over after i go to the bank.

a boss 302 is also a stroked 4.6 basically... I see no reason for you to throw out your motor in trade for a mod...
unless your gonna make way over 400hp it'd just be a waste of time...

?????
You're thinking of the Aussie motors we were discussing in the other thread, maybe?
The first Boss 302's were windsor block V8's. The new Boss 302 blocks from Ford are pushrod blocks that cost over $1700. It IS a waste unless you're going north of 400+ RWHP, I dare say 500...550 with a motor plate.

MACCO paint job it works almost no body rust after 2 years or so. Why repaint it the engine bay all matches except for the green battery. The inside matches being blue and red and last of all the paint stays and if i want another paint job i will be a 2nd car for it why redo anything more than you have to? You think i want to change the paint when i got Vortech S-Trim sitting around and UPR subframe connectors? Also do you know how much fun it is to pass someone in a crazy looking car when they know they can't catch you priceless.

All components add up to around 50 pounds. Taking that much weight off the front of your car in front of the tires would make a huge difference to someone who road races. Makes a difference in the launch too at a dragstrip believe it or not....It was a no brainer for me. Yanked that stuff right out. Had it for 7 + years and NEVER used it.

I know a guy that raced a Fox Mustang. He pulled the A/C because of weight. Once he got the whole system out, it wasn't but 10-15 lbs, or something like that. Once he saw the scale, right back in it went.
:2c: On anything that "steetable", A/C is not an option.

For me,it sometimes gets around 110 degrees and 90% humidity. The a/c goes back on asap.It really sucks when you're driving down the highway, and it's that hot and it starts pouring down rain.Dear god that sucks bad.If the port I drive was just a weekend car, maybe, but I drive it everyday. Now,Pimp may have different goals and ideas for his car,and I respect that totally.

The compressor alone weighs more than 15 pounds. Not to mention the lines, condensor and much smaller bracket you swap in to mount the power steering pump higher up.

Also thanks for any negative feeback in other posts but this only goes to 2 of you on this whole great car site.
I think this last summer hottest day was like 105 and the coldest day was like 5 so as much as i hate it i got to keep it since the car is parked outside.
Also a new Shelby GT500 should weigh as much as a fully loaded fox aerobird so all i need is a power adder right guys?

Subframe connectors welded on for $50 today makes the car drive 100% better and makes me forgot it has 200,000 miles on it.
I got them new for $45 but still well worth it for the $60 MSRP.
I hope soon i can get some of the GT500s in 4 lug for my car soon.

Title: My Aerobird GT-Car got wreck lady pulled out in front of me.
Post by: Carpimp1987 on March 07, 2008, 11:21:34 PM
They fit just fine and fit well the Seat braces are to small so buy Chuck W's but we welded the seat braces and the SFC so no bolts and painted the clear zip ties and seat braces and also the whole SFC. So its all painted black and all welded and handles like a newer car with all stock springs and shocks and struts only added thing was the SFC on a 200,000+ mile car.
Next mods for next check Summit Racing igntion box with REV limiter costs i think $160 also MSD coil if i can get a hold of this kid for $20. Also gonna get a little window tint on the front window above the AS1 line. The voltage gauge is sliver now so i gotta change it out for the black gauge. Then i got to order a set of NGK TR6 spark plugs and if i can get a hold of my old machanics i will buy a set of blue professinal products Fuel Rails.

Plus, REAL hot rods dont have AC!

you know, my A/C wont hold a charge for 5 min. so its sitting on the engine doing nothing. i also have the climate control unit and all it controls is the blowers. i also dont have a heater core in the car so basically if you turn the ac on anything, it pulls cool air from the cowl and since its not going past a hot heater core its nice and cool on a hot muggy day in ga. all the junk is still in the car, i gotta wait till i got time to take the dash out and get all of that out of the car. btw carpimp, your car looks nice the only thing i dont agree with really is the way the hood stripes are. thats a bit... odd. but it still looks nice none-the-less. but even if that thing was tie-die it'd be a good car from what you've done to it.

Thanks man thats the one thing i did even if i don't agree with it but since its my one of a kind idea "reversed Hood Stripes". But also it cuts the glare of the preal white down form over the hood and makes it a better DD on sunny days. Also sun roof stripes never saw a car with them and wanted to see it so i had to add them to mine. Got the paint job 3 years ago when i was 17 and i am sure it will not be copied before that paint fades or rusts.
This car has over 200,000 miles on and it and has been wrecked 5 or 6 times and has hail damage so overall i don't think it looks bad at all.
dogcharmer i upgrade the 20gig to the 120gig and it won't let me play at all unless i am on xboxlive when i start the game.

This car had been in my family since 1997 so 11 years and was made the year i was born and it meant a lot to me and was over half way done down to every bolt and every drop of paint. I was not worried as much about the mom as her kid he looked like he was 1 or 2 sit had a car seat it was more unfair to him than my car to get hit like that.

I bet it's tweaked. My '80 Capri RS took a hit like that and it didn't even look that bad on the surface and had SFCs, but if you looked at it from the back, the pass seat was 1-2" higher than the driver one after the hit.
If you want to keep in a Fox, just find a donor car. You're down south, so finding a clean one wouldn't be all that hard to do (unlike up here in the Rust Belt)

Ouch!!! That sucks big time!! Sorry for your loss but I'm glad that you're ok. It looks like the p/s door is sitting allright. Rip that fender off and see how the door opens. It could be fixed, but not in a driveway. You'd need a frame machine with the proper jigs to hold the car and to line up the replacement parts. Also you'd have to remove the P/S subframe/core cupport/inner fender panel by cutting all their spotwelds once you've stripped everything else off the front. It would be a heck of a lot easier just to get a another Fox Bird and swap the parts that survived.

Her Insurance can take it 1st car and there gonna fix this s*** if they want out cheap should of sent the lady some KC lights to go on top of her dark red SUV. She might have been on a cell phone not sure but when you make a turn or blind turn at least do it faster.

The insurance company won't pay to have it fixed. It will be totalled.
Best case you'll get the car back and a little $$

Correct. I feel for ya man. I would say get what you can, and look for another shell. Youve stuck quite a bit into that car, and have a lot of parts that can be transferred over to a new body. I agree though, its probly tweeked bad.

Ouch, same thing happened to a freind of mine in his lifted chevy when he was taking his little bro to school. Only difference was the woman was getting on the highway, she had no arrow in her turn lane but insisted that she did and was raising all kinds of hell. Luckily a school bus driver saw it and told the police what happened.
Hopefully you can find another fox. Sucks to see this happen.

Chuck's right, I've been in your shoes. Here is what will happen and what you need to do...
The lady's insurance company will probably offer you a lowball settlement and want to keep your car. I would try for at least $1500 plus you keep your car. If they insist on taking your car strip it BEFORE they come to pick it up. In fact, I'd start stripping it this week end just in case. I've been through this before with a Turbo coupe. Thier initial offer was $1000 and they keep my car. I countered with "F**K you, my car's not for sale! I want $2000 and I keep my car". We argued back and forth on the phone for around 2 weeks but I got my 2 grand and kept the car.
Just make sure they understand how much money you have in the car and what kind of "pristine" condition the car is in and that any "book" value doesnt apply in this case.... If you get my drift. They'll try and find cars similar to yours for sale so they can value yours but they wont find any. Tell them "that's because mine is exceptional and in pristine condition". Be stubborn and keep at them and in the mean time get that thing stripped. At the very least you'll buy time while you're haggling over the settlement.
You've got to take control of the argument from the start! Thier job is to screw you and save thier billion dollar company a few pennies...
Remember that!
Hope this helps.
Hell, I wish I lived closer. I'd come over and help you strip it just to make sure you dont forget anything.

+1
Document all the money and time you've invested in the car. Find prices from three different "equivalent" cars for sale (on evilbay etc), get prices from auto enthusiast publications like CPI. Make them pay.
Lots of good advice here, all painfully earned. Oh, and one more thing. Don't trust that insurance company any further than you can throw your car.

That car is fvcked. Sure, if you put enough money into it a body shop with a frame machine could save it (maybe even weld on a whole new front clip), but at the end of the day you'd end up spending more than the car is worth, and still probably end up with a bent car with a salvage or rebuilt title. Like Chuck said - you live in the south, it shouldn't be hard to find a replacement. Save yourself some money and buy a cheap V6 Bird, then transfer your drivetrain over.
Before the insurance company even makes you an offer you should contact a licensed auto appraiser and tell them your predicament. DO NOT let the insurance company take the car until you do, and preferably you should do it before an adjuster looks at it. Any appraiser worth his salt should be able to determine the pre-crash condition and value of the car and assign a value to it. It might cost you $100 for an appraisal, but I guarantee it'll be worth your time to do so. The insurance company has to pay what the car is appraised at, not its book value. That car, with the custom work you've done to it (be sure to tell the appraiser everything, and show him the mods in person so that he can add their value to your appraiser) should be worth at least $5k.
I will not even be taking my car on the road this spring until it's appraised.

There are tons of Fox Cougars and Tbirds in Austin, Dallas, Houston, and SA. Some for hundreds of dollars, just waiting for a transplant.

Hope ya find something to fill the hole this created! I wouldn't be able to deal with it. Id have neighbors complaining about an "eyesore" because I'd keep it...even if it was unusable. I'm just soooo attached to the thing.

Just having to get all the repair bills and stuff minus the LED lights and then the sound system so i gotta a lot of work to do.
Thanks guys for all the nice comments can't keep the car but i drove it for about 30,000-40,000 miles and it was not always good to me but kept me safe even till its end.
Welll i was about to save up for a new car after i got the supercharger on it bad thing is someone siad they would sell me a 11.8 sec honda body kit and all for $5,000 sure i would hate it but if it was clean and killed Vetts and Cobras and maybe a old dodge viper i might have to go look at it if i can't find me anything else soon.

last wreck was only i think a $525 fix but my mechanic has said the frame is bent and one of the shock tower is about 1/4" off.
But if i get the 93 coupe might paint it green on top and sliver or grey bottom and put my Turbocoupe wheels on it because all the tires are still good. 5.0 and a supercharger in a lighter car might be nice.

I've seen a newer grand am with a two tone top painted like that with a midnightish blue on top, and the factory medium blue below, down the road from me, maybe I'll get a pic. It looks pretty good, IMO. The body lines are somewhat similar to the mn12 birds, atleast looking at it from the left/right rear. I still think a green and sliver combo will do fine just and the green if its bright enough might set of the sliver and blue engine a little bit.
Getting some free paint if there any extra at my neighbor's shop and also getting a new Raditor for FREE is the mustang one the same size? also mine hood scoops are saved so i am getting a side ram air scoop made for the UPR cold air kit also with a little help and saving a few dollars gettting upgraded head gaskets and the supercharger on soon and buying another set of SFC's and should have sound system and window tint and much more in the next 1 or 2 months.

1988 Cougar XR7-buying car for $500 as is only 40-50miles away form where I live.
Faded Sliver
No motor but still has the AOD in it
one fender hit mailbox needs minor body work
8.8 rear end moser axles not sure what gears
1999 mustang brakes
5 lug swap does not have a full set of wheels so looking for some 2005 mustang V6 rims which are 16x7 to put my old tires onto.
Because of the car being sliver i want it to be a grey or sliver on the bottom and some other color on the top for a 2 tone custom look.

thunderchicken is right about the value thing, now chucks answer is generally how it goes.
If you evaluate the car and produce reciepts, that plus the value of the car play into the amount owed to you.
I had an 84 which got crushed by a tree. the agent was prepared with a check for 800 back in 92.
I told him "i had a great running car and i have done this and that",,"how am i going to find a great running car for 800?"
we sat down and went over my reciepts and such and the check ended up being 1800. they sold the car to me for 200, i got a check for 1600 and kept the car.
I then turned around and sold body parts,, then finally the engine/trans for 600.
I made a bunch of money off that ordeal and ended up with my white coug.
im gonna miss that car, it was an eyefull, but i liked the look nonetheless.

I know i gotta go thorugh that also but i got a big file of reciepts. The Aerobird-GT was only around 70% done maybe but if i live long enough i will rebuild it slighty nicer but about to the specs and the picture i had in my head for the overall car people young and old liked the car and it was always more than meets the eye Family has had the car for 11 years i will miss it much but All is not lost and many of the parts will be swapped into the Cougar so i can't take all of the past with me but i can keep a little of it down the road.

You know that an 88 xr7 did not come in silver, right? Only black, red and white. Either its been repainted, it's an 87 xr7 or an 88 LS. Check the VIN against Eric's VIN info on Coolcats, or look for chrome mirrors and door handles. Just an FYI

So for cougars you have
Base model
LS model and XR7
Well i done hijacking threads.....i hope i hate the warnings got 2 so far i don't know much about the cougar i am getting but i am sure it will turn out a nice car when its all done.
but so far i still want sliver and green 2 tone and i am looking for a set of rims like 86yelow cougar had on his ride. also the white and blue one the 63 T-bird might work.

Two-tone can work on these cars if done tastefully. Eric's car is an example of two-tone done right with subtle, complimenting colours. 5.8FastCat's Cougar is an example of two-tone done right with "loud" contrasting colours.
Eric's got line-art drawings of 83-86 body style Cougars in the media section of Coolcats. Take those drawings and edit them in paint to work ideas. Just try to keep the two-tones in keeping with the lines of the car.

There aren't many lines on these cars. which makes two tones tough. Maybe you can do the 50's Vette white blob behind the front fender
Title: My Aerobird GT-Car got wreck lady pulled out in front of me.
Post by: Carpimp1987 on March 17, 2008, 09:19:17 PM
The T-birds have better lines which can allow for 3 colors even if i broke the paint up a lot more than anyone i know.
The cougar looks to be a 2 tone car and thats it flames don't look good they only thing i can see doing is 2 tone with a racing flag thing kind of like the newer Monte Carlos. Its not my car of chocie its just the best option i have at getting something kind of close to what i had and not having a "recondtioned car"
Yes i really like 5.8 fast cat's cougar but i will not copy it even if its done 99% perfect and looks just how i would of done it if i had been looking at cats insted of birds for years.

About the only way you get a good tue-tone look is to follow the factory style (look at mine in my sig). I would go with more than two colors on a Fox but that's just me.
Title: My Aerobird GT-Car got wreck lady pulled out in front of me.
Post by: Romeo2k on March 18, 2008, 01:42:35 AM
:iagree: That seems like its about as good as you can get with a full 2 tone.
Or just do what you had before pretty much, use the side trim pieces as a divider for the 2 tone (looks better with ground effects imo).

there a 83-86 cougar that was for sale was 2 tone and the bottom was black and the car was a nice blue divided at the body trim line looked clean and so does ERIC's 2 tone coupe.

um NO, they dont... unless of course you do it two tone and use a different colour as a divider, like 5.8fastcats... orange and black seperated by silver.

The only line it has is the top corner of the fender. They added the side molding to add the affect of body lines.

pin striping body-side mouldings cover up paint lines in two tones. That said, that is where I would put the two tone effect.

Sorry i thought the guy said grey or sliver car but i looked at it today its is a Faded Red 1988 Cougar XR7 5 lug has some py mustang wheels but good tires on them and he did have a tublar K-member in it but he sold it with the engine but he is buying another one before he puts the car back together so that added a little to the price but $750 no motor and new tublar k member and moser axles.
I never noticed much that the XR7 and Turbocoupe had the same steering wheel works for me plus all my red painted panels inside match the Porno Ford red Inside the car.
Decide the car should be painted Sliver on top and a blue on bottom and the grill will be kept red also will get hood pins again with the wires threw the grill and i will try and save my chrome door handles.
Also engine bay will be sliver and gas tank cover painted sliver and i am getting chrome 2004 mustang V6 rims for $200 16x7 rims and all 4 tires in good shape.
How hard would it be to get some Chrome Cougar mirriors and swap them out on the car? like 10mins or 30mins or about how long would it take?

mirrors are easy, 3 bolts un hook harness, re hook it. 15-20 mins. door panel comes off to get harness. Please tell me you didnt says silver blue, and RED grill? Sounded awesome till the rear grill..... That IMHO would make it look like it had a cold and it would be rudolf the red nose cougar....

Traveled to a small town called Dumas, texas today had like 15 fox body mustangs 1 cougar and 1 T-Bird they only car that looked bad was the T-Bird the back tail lights where busted out and the front bumper was replaced after a wreck and was not color matched.
for a small town had a lot of nice cars meaning you could drive on one road for 6-8 mins and be on the otherside of the town going down main street.
Shelby GT mustang black with sliver stripes
purple dodge charger SRT-8
Blue dodge charger super bee
sliver caddy CTS-V
1970 blue pontiac Lemans
I am having my mechanic paint the car not a paint shop and MACCO closed so i got no one else that can paint a car for less than a few 100s. But i am getting the paint 50-70% off and primer and clear coat.
Don't send any get well soon cards and the last time i saw that color combo was on a Buick GrandNational and 1WLD BRD i bet it will look just as good as your 88 XR7 how long did it take to make that hood for it?

1988 cougar XR7 to swap parts and use inusrance money on.
also heres my new DD car for $2,500 while the cougar is being bulit and hopefully for a long time after that.
1988 Ford Thunderbird
5.0 HO mustang engine Mass air conversion 255lph fuel pump AOD transmission rebuilt for performance BBK coated equal length headers X-pipe with Flowmaster duals 5-lug front rotors and spindles 8.8 posi differential with 3.73 gears - 5 lug 2001 mustang GT rims Lowered suspension Global West rear lower control arms Less than 80K original miles. Fully electric with stereo by Sal at AutoTint. Car is in very nice condition. Only selling because I have too many other vehicles
so i should have a 88 T-bird and 88 Cougar XR7 if all works well.
Hopefully welcome to the good life my back my hurt but i may have 2 super nice fox body fords and still not owned a single mustang so for anyone selling your car you must be crazy or have way to many other cars.

The T-bird is white so what color should i paint it under the trim line to 2 tone it later this summer? and what color should i powder coat the wheels if i get it?
all i will add to the 88 T-bird is a UPR cold air kit and my old flex fan and hopefully a set of SFC's with Chuck Ws Seat Braces so i will try and put less than $200 in mods on it untill its paid off now with engine swap and the miles before that it only has 84,000 miles on the 88 T-Bird so it should make a very nice DD untill i get the cougar XR7 bulit then i will just swap out every day or 2.

white on black, or blue would look good, make sure the trim accents it, so do that black, or white. do a silver, or dark grey on the wheels
Title: My Aerobird GT-Car got wreck lady pulled out in front of me.
Post by: Carpimp1987 on March 25, 2008, 12:13:07 AM
the car is white
the inside is red the pinstripes are red so heres my idea.
Get the wheels painted White and paint the bottom red to make it match and it would be different form my last T-Bird.
Wheels cost about $30-35 each last time i checked
my cost paint and primer and clear coat maybe $100 or less for the bottom of the car so with that and the few mods i listed early it would be around $500 this year in it so i might spend another $800 in it just for this year.
So trying to keep the overall cost of the car around $3,500-4,000 for this year be nice and custom and paided off.

Post by: daboss351 on March 25, 2008, 12:17:55 AM
white wheels are a BITCH to keep clean you want to go with a darker color. Just cause the interior is red doesnt mean the paint has to match. Black bottom with a silver trim, silver or black or gunmetal wheels would look killer!

Or i could paint bottom blue and top red leave the middle white and paint the wheels white that would work right?
just joking i am lazy so either White and black or White and red just something simple.

Ture let me do a few races buy like 5 of them post a few simple ones then a few over the edge customs Forza 2 is a good tool for custom paint ideas and also is a fun racing game.
After all the effort i put into my last T-bird i am keeping this one mostly stock looking to remind how my 87 was before i started changing everything on it. Besides the wheels and the pin stripe being red insted of blue this is my old car to one i remeber seeing everyday for almost 10 years before i fixed it up so i want to keep it to go back to the basic's. Also no fun to only have 1 car and try and fix it up and have to walk to work.

most anything is for sale just ask but most of it goes in my new 88 cougar XR7 and a few parts go in my new 88 T-Bird.

So for the last time when do you ever shut up??? it looked just like my new 88 except blue interior and blue pinstripe i am almost back at step one when i got my 2nd T-Bird minus the rims and its lowered and allready had window tint.
The only reason i don't get along with you is pure lack of respect i don't need to step back in time and i would almost do it all the same again if i only had the money to do so. I miss that car and its still nicer than both of my new cars everything worked and everything was added after i got it and nothing was there that i did not want and all it lacked was a parts list and some more work.
Cougrrr302 go learn to take risks and to look at things and know they used to look way worse and respect the countless hours and work and love and cash it takes to make something out of a 100% stock T-Bird.
I can't go back and do it again the pain is way to much to deal with and it would of been unsafe to fix it and at least i can look back and know i do almost everything in my power to make it the best it could and know that there was a lot of money in it and its a good thing i did not add anything else before that wreck.

Learn to take risks? Buddy dont even start. Just because I care about my car and dont spray paint the hell out of it DO NOT start shiznit with me. My Uncle died protecting this car SO DO NOT ****ING START shiznit WITH ME GOT IT? I love this car with all of my might and I work every god day to save money and make a living and redo the drivetrain and keep the already immaculate body in perfect condition in RESPECT to my Uncle.
Yes we need to move on from things but it was a question. Dont tell me about countless hours of work I work every day on cars that are way worse than your wrecked 87. I fix cars that shouldnt even be touched because someone wrecked it that bad. You wanna talk shiznit on me or my skills get your ass up to Kansas and look at everything I have done and what I have sitting in the garage and in my driveway. DO NOT EVER INSULT ME! Im half tempted to drive to Amarillo and whoop your ass for telling me to take risks, because I had no choice to take ownership of this car at 3 years old when my Uncle was killed. Just because you think its cool to rice out your cars and throw on every cheap bolt on part then do it, i dont see why you have to be a post w about it. You are Fila Jr. And nothing I have read since you started this or any other thread has shown any difference between you and him.

Its okay man and don't worry i will have fun at any place with any car stuff and i am kind of done getting mad at people its a bad habit but its basically happens when one person just trys and trys to bug me and then i just get sick of it and its like early in the mouring and i am mad and i don't even think about what i am typing. i really could careless as long as all of us try to save and fix up and drive these cars and race them. Does not matter if you got 1 or like a few of us have 2 or so and a rare few got almost a car lot worth of these nice cars.
So i got mad my fault if you don't want to see my cars don't click on any of my threads thats okay by me. Also if you do stop by and say what you want but try not 2 make me mad with your jokes.
Not that this matters much at this point but your 3 cars look nice and are well kept up so don't waste your gas driving down here and go add onto any of them you want because there all worth working on.
Also i just look at the reason you got the cougar which i am sorry that sucks and i don't know what to say really because thats got to be hard to deal with. I don't like saying Sorry but i kind of need 2 so as soon as your not as mad at me hit me up with some ideas for the T-Bird if you don't like what i do with it thats okay but just throw out some ideas.
But your not the only person i have pissed off so sorry to every last person on this Forum even if you just joined and have been here since day 1.

Then why the hell are you typing?! Get some sleep! You throw out this excuse all the time. Frankly, I know I'm quite done with hearing it.

The only reason i don't get along with you is pure lack of respect
Respect is EARNED. Stickers and video games do not earn you respect.

go learn to take risks and to look at things and know they used to look way worse and respect the countless hours and work and love and cash it takes to make something out of a 100% stock T-Bird.
Finding one of these cars in 100% stock condition and in pristine shape and keeping it that way IS something IMHO. It takes dedication. Some people choose to customize. You've been told this before -- a pioneer you are not. Sorry.
