Title: What kind of Cluster?
Post by: DMC24guy on August 20, 2007, 11:55:33 AM
I've never seen this one before. The gauges appear to be in the same location at the Turbo Coupe cluster, but everything looks different. What car is this out of? The guy claims it will work in our cars...

Bizarre Gauge Cluster (http://"http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1986-1988-Ford-Thunderbird-Gauge-Cluster-No-Reserve_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33675QQihZ005QQitemZ150152038831QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW")

Dunno, but I like it.
Looks like the Turbo Coupe one but delete on the boost gauge. then showing a 4500 yellow warning with a 5500 redline that sounds like V8 (2.3's rev higher don't they? my old 2300 did)

did a sport ever come with something like this?

Maybe for a 3.8 ? I highly doubt than mine can go ahead 4000 rpm....and it has no rev limiter since is a carbureted engine !

Maybe for the canadian market.

Any idea what it takes to put in in an 88 Bird?

will it simply bolt in?
will it simply wire up?

This IS the style of dash cluster I would like to have if it would work.

Still don't understand why WE didn't get a voltmeter

Good question, but when the '85 cluster was designed back in '84 few cars had volt meters... Would have been nice if they had rehashed the dash again for the '87s, but Ford wimped out and saved a few bucks... The '87 face lift did cost several Million $$$, so it's understandable why they decided leave well enough alone, on a design that was only going to be used two years...

It's an 87-88 non 5.0 cluster. It's only worth something if the lens is clean.

Everyone else already said mustang already, so I think we know it's not for or fits a thunderbird/cougar....
