Title: 5 lug brakes off a mn-12
Post by: Innes on August 20, 2007, 01:18:00 AM
Not taking about the rear but the front brakes spindals, rotors, calaples ect.. Dose any one know if this conversion is possible taking front brakes from a 91 TBird cause I did not see it on the list of possible donor vehicles on Eric’s site. http://www.coolcats.net/tech/advanced/4to5lug.html

The bolt circle is different as mentioned, and really there is nothing of value for the Fox cars on the MN-12's brake-wise.

One thing to note.  On the 96-97 "Sport" Tbirds, and Mk8's, there was a "big" brake upgrade with involved 11-1/2" rotors and the calipers, etc.  Doesn't sound too big, but was bigger than the regular stuff and bigger than the stock 94-98 V6/GT SN-95 stuff.  The rotors/calipers will fit the SN-95 spindles/hubs if you elongate the stud holes in the rotor a little bit.
It's not really worth it, but it is a minor upgrade if you have no other choice.  I had a set on the '83 for a short while before I snagged the Cobra stuff.
