Carm, you should be receiving your hardcopy today (if you get a newspaper):

I've been talking with Stephen for a few years but didn't know he was doing this. Way cool! Let's support our fellow Cat owner in his endeavoUr.

A fox in the Targa? That's awesome and aweful at the same time. I wanted to have the first fox in the Targa Newfoundland. :(

Yeah, that's awesome, though. :D

I've thought about turning a 4-eye Cougar into a rally car. I've thought about a lot of things though.
I'm quite interested in what power/drivetrain option he chose. Did he modify the suspension?

The only rally-oriented Fox Mustang I've heard of ran a 351W and a 3-link rear. The driver would win events with it.

Regarding the Cougar...no experience?

I'd put my money on a mechanical or wreck..

Holy Heck, it has the 3.8?! :p

Double secret probation edit:

Eric, can you PM me his contact info...or find out if he'll let you do so?

Yeah, it says somewhere in the article that it runs a 3.8. I shook my head when I read that. It's still cool, though.

That is similar to the paint scheme I was going to do up on my '86. With a thinner red stripe though.

He seems to have a realistic goal, just wants to complete the event(I hope he's replaced the HGs on that 3.8)  ...

Guessing he has a fresh engine???

Look at the distance between the rear of the door and the front of the rear wheel opening. The door also looks shorter. He's taken a good 10" out of the wheelbase. That's now a two-seater Cougar.

I hope he isn't gonna keep those hubcaps on it for the rally :hick:

I think its awesome as well as funny that he's entering a cougar.  they don't remind me of a sports car (although I know better) so with the front grill, the caps match.  to me its like a rally sleeper ha.

Yeah! I'll have to check it out.

I've pondered about entering the touring class myself but the price is too high for me. Just think of the improvments $4K could do to the TC. Plus you have to pay for hotels, meals, fuel, etc.

They're showing Targa Newfoundland on Speed right now. The cougar ended up going into a wall.

Yeah, I remember seeing that a month or two back. I think I remember an 'also ran' about the Cougar. Did they even show a shot of it after the crash?

Nice paint job and its awesome its made a little shorter but it needs at least 5.0 under the hood.
