i got the same bird....run new wires to the front and disconnect factory amps on backside of rear seat.... for the rear speaks cut ends off and then put em to speakers :) to wire the front use a coat hanger (bend the end in a small loop and tape it makes it easier) to get it through the boot takes a while to find the end of the coat hanger but its better then messing with it and trying to get stock speaks to work....id just upgrade to aftermarket speaks too...i got the cheap 20$ roadmaster walmart speakers for now they sound decent.......the coolcat's page has some good info id check there also
Run some nice new wires. :hick:
Ew... Roadmaster...
Shoulda got some Lightning Audio speakers from walmart. :hick:
Just as cheap but made from a lower branch of rockford fosgate.

Yes and it was discussed here on the board about using a aftermarket head with the factory EQ...
Hello
I was wondering where the hell is the amp located in the bird?
I have owned the car for 11 years and im starting to search for it.
Any ideas where it might be?

On my 84, it was under the dash cap. I belive in 86 it was in the trunk, near the speakers on the rear deck maybe?
likely it is in the trunk.
pages 196-202 in the evtm shows all system (s) layout with speakers / eq ect.
if you feel froggy flia, post em up.
