Poll
Question: What would people like to do?
It has been proposed that people from Ohio and neighboring states all gather for a fall meet. The weekend in question is 9-15/16. There are several options available that we can do. Depending on how many people are interested, we could meet at the Mansfield Reformatory and tour the "largest freestanding cell block" more info can be found at their website, mrps.org. We could meet at the most central location we might be able to find and do some sort of cook out (this depends on who would want to attend), or we could make it more about the people, and not so much about the cars, and head to Cedar Point for a day. Please vote in the poll, and try to keep all responses on point (aka please don't hijack this thread:D )
I like just gathering together and eating :)
grill some burgers and dogs and just hang out.we could bring side dishes to make it easier on everyone.
ohio?!?! i hate you all.
I voted cookout. Where should it be held though?
we could go to norwalk.
I'm for a cookout myself and meeting everybody
I really like the cookout idea. Any special reason for mid-September? That's cool, I just wonder if it's too soon after CatJam? Of course, it shouldn't be snowing yet either.
After the cookout we could all get in my truck and head out to KS. :beatyoass: jus jokin'
Cookout sounds great to me.
*SNACKS!!!*
:D
Just bumpin to see if anyone else is still interested.
I'm down.
You know I'm down.
Absolutely!
Hey Heritage. Looks like we got at least 10. If all ten show up, then I think we're doing well. Are we ready for details, like:
What we might all bring as far as food n stuff or a little cash for food at least, since this will be a group effort. What about a rain date as well?
where and when is this thing?
As I stated before, I am more than willing to have everyone over to my house for a cookout, I was thinking about 9-15 which is a Sat. I though that Sat. might be better than a Sunday, that way people could hang out for awhile and not have to rush off. Plus, if anyone wants to, I could make a few phone calls and put together a poker game. Don't know who all plays Hold 'Em, but I usually host a $5 game every other week, its an option if anyone is interested. As for a rain date, we could shoot for the weekend after. I'm thinking that if everyone was willing to chip in $6, I could go out and buy some burgers, (I would probably get the frozen patties to make it a little easier), and a couple of cases of pop, most likely Pepsi products, but if someone prefers something else let me know. If anyone want to bring some sort of side dish you are more than welcome to, but its not required. If you want alcohol, thats up to you to bring it. I can fit 6 cars in the driveway, but I don't live on a busy street, so parking on the side of the street is fine.

Wow, you guys are lucky. If everyone follows through, this will turn out really well.
Well I know half of those are guaranteed to come.
if it's not going to be far from (columbus,oh.),i would consider comming up from evansville,in. 85 black cougar ls
I am about an 1.5 to 2 hours NE of Columbus, OH (depending on your speed) Cbuttstuff Fulton, OH if you want to map it.
, I thought you were in mansfield. According to yahoo maps, Im 128 miles away and two hours 8 minutes. I can probably take some time and distance off of that, but it will still take three tanks of fuel to get the truck there, lol I might be able to stretch two, but dont know. Takes me an hour and 35 minutes to get to dragway 42.
i did it's over 400 miles maybe next time it will be closer to my area thanks. (85 cougar ls)
We'll have another meet in Columbus either in October or next spring. Of course anytime you're in the area, let me know. I'm always willing to eat lunch. :D
I could possibly make it. I'm only 10 min from Cbuttstuff Fulton
hey turboranger! The list keeps growing for Ohio.... Actually when I joined I think there was only 6 people here in ohio.. I think its over tripple that now.
Just wondering if everyone is still up for this. My wife has actually turned this into more than just us :birdsmily: and :cougarsmily: people, hope everyone is OK with that. She thought it would be a good idea to invite some of the people that we normally hang out with. Also as mentioned before, if anyone is interested, I am planning on putting together a Hold 'Em game that evening, we usually play for $5 a game, and usually start about 9:00and finish about midnight, with having a cookout though, we could start earlier, and it wouldn't finish so late. Just something to think about. Also I was planning on having people show up around Noon. Leave some feedback and let me know what sounds good.
Still the 15th and 16th? You know I'll be there, I'll make sure Martin, John and Jim come along :) (*mayhem*, blue84302, 8birdy8)
I'm hoping that the TC is driving by then so I can drive it, but I'm not sure that is going to happen.
Yep, I was still planning on doing it on the 15th.
A freind of mine is getting married next month that I have not seen in over 20 years. I think it's the following week though (22nd), so I'm very much hoping/wanting to be there. Shouldn't be a problem. I'll find out for sure tonight.....I hope anyway.
Just a bump and an FYI. I should have no problems making it. Friends wedding is following weekend, and not having to work that weekend should not be a problem.
Hmmmm.... I may have a scheduling conflict. I'm planning to pick up the new cat in Chicago that Sunday. But If I can do all this right and everything goes according to plan I may be able to make it around 4:00 or so.
Just to make things clear (in case they weren't) we are going to be gathering on Saturday the 15th.
I'm back in the area. I may be able to make it to one of these things.
DOH!!! Well, sorry guys. Much as I'd like to make it, I gotta work and I can't afford to take any more time off right now. :(
Day after my B-day but I may be in, caravan down with the toledo guys maybe if one of my birds is playing nice. I should have a new turbo on the tc this weekend but would prefer to take my 5.0 car if it's still behaving then
If I come, I will bring the 88 I just picked up today:D
I just checked the weather, and they are calling for a high of 59° Sat, with mostly sunny skies. For those that are interested in coming, PM me and I will give you my address and cell number so I am able to be reached. I would rather not post it.
So... uh... what time would this be starting?
Saturday 9-15 staring at noon, runs till whenever.
Listens to the crickets. So who all is planning on making the trip? If you need directions PM me and I will send you my address and cell number.
Me! I may even drive a cat up. Not 100% on the cat though. I'll give you a call. I still have your number from last year.
So guys? Who all is going up? I'll be there.
I won't be there. Claude...PM your cell # to me if you get the chance.

the wife would have loved reason to stay up another day.
Well...how was it?
Anybody?

Frye?
real sorry I couldnt make it.my brother-n-law is redoing his kitchen and the guy that was suppose to help, bailed on him and I went down to help him..........I hope all went good.
I was the only one who showed from the forums. There are at least three of us who want to keep something going on for us Ohioans and others close enough to come out. Mayhem was buried with his job and Claude has been working allot of hours. Maybe it was a timing thing, who knows. This is a very busy time of year business wise it seems, school starts up, auto makers and sales doing the hustle and all, so maybe a bit of a timming thing. I'm not giving up on us meeting from time to time though. Maybe we should also consider moving this around the State some as well.
As for hanging out with 83Heritage, it was pretty cool. He had a couple buddies over as well. He has a VERY nice place and room for allot of cars to park. I even risked driving my 88' up. Haven't driven it for months, and it seemed to behave well enough as well. I left a few hours later than I had planned, and 3.5 hours away, good thing I got some sleep. I know some of you are going to be putting your cars up for the winter, especialy up North. Maybe we should wait until after the Winter Weather next year. If it's nice enough for another one this year, that could be cool also. Just let me know what you all think.
So sorry I could not show up but I had the dish instaled and the dsl was deliverd that same day
WHAT?!?! Holy ...Ric has finally stepped into the late 20th century!! ;)
I'm hungry. Who wants lunch next Sunday?
