Here is my 1986 Cougar that was factory converted in Florida to a Classic Tiffany in 1987. It retains all of the Cougar mechanics and interior with the addition of fiberglass body accents and lenghtening to 21 feet. I've had the car 20 years and it just rolled over 30,000 miles.
Wow...that's in really great shape! 20 years is a long time...you've done an incredible job maintaining it. Cool.
I swear, 90% of those Tiffanys are white... ;)
Nice and clean.....Eric, I've never seen one in person in white. I've seen about 6 or 7 in red, no other color.....
That is one of the coolest mods I have ever seen. Is cougar the only car that is usually done to?
We either have a liar on our hands or someone who doesn't know how to take pictures.. The first car is an 87 88 conversion and the second is an 83 84 4 eye. The wheels are different between the two cars.
Claude, I was JUST about to post about that.. yeah what's up with that?
I was looking only at the bottom photo...seems those are two different years. From what I understand, if there were any leftover '86 Cougars in 1987, they could be converted and titled as '87s. So a 1987 Tiffany could look like an '86. Still, those are totally different pix.
Look at the back window Eric, that top one is DEFINATLY not the same car, it is an '87-'88
I smell, BS
Me suspects a regular member is trying to stir things up. Especially since I've seen numerous posts about how ugly those are and how much they didn't like them.
BTW: If you look closely, you'll see the wheels are different too.
TOP:
87/88 Cougar base. "Smooth" wheels. Taillights mounted high on the rear fenders. No landau trim on the c-pillar. No pinstripe. Chrome center on spare.
BOTTOM:
85/86 Cougar base (look inside the window, you can see the shape of the 85-88 dash). "Wire" wheels. Taillights mounted low and far back on rear fenders. Landau trim on c-pillar. Blue pinstripe. Gold center on spare.
Which one is really yours?
I still want one. And I am being completely serious. I would not mind having one at all.
I love em. Saw one in Medium Charcoal Metallic Clearcoat and it got me a little excited.
There was an 86 and an 88 that drove around when I lived in Florida. You're right I would own one!
i would own one also ...and i would wear a mink fur coat and a big purple hat and call myself huggy bear.......but no i would realy own one
i saw one a week ago in silver. an 87-88, porno red interior. i took pics with my phone, but no way to get the pics on here. :(
I think it's atrocious. No offense to the owner, of course.
I'd pimp one. Literally.
Yeah, I'm wondering what's up with posting pics of two completely different cars as well. It actually took reading Claude's post to make it "click" - while waiting for the pics to download over dialup I first saw the 87-88 roof and thought "Cool, I've never seen one in that style", then scrolled down to read the posts, then back up to look at the second pic, which by then had finished downloading.
:bs::nono::whatever:
does Fila have a brother? LOL!
You have eyes of eagle Oh great one.Spotting the two seperate photos was a god call. That just proves, you don't have to lie to be cool (My daughter's line).
COOL! I dont care for the white, ill agree both of them are quite ugly but with a few subtle changes ie. maybe a bit more or a hot rod style in the front bumper and headlights and it would be bitchin!
Also, does that have the factory wheelbase?? the guy said its 21 feet long. Are the parts to do that still avilabile anywhere??
:hick: :D :flame:  :toilet: :shakeass: :giggle:   :shoothead :bricks1: :nutkick:
(We have wayyyy more smilies then I know what to do with :hick: )
That is wicked car
Id pimp one out......
...to the syard.
Nice try, but I'm an only child:flip:
I didn't see a difference in the cars, but i don't know what I'm looking for either
thank god! i'd hate to think there might be TWO breeders with your genetic traits walking around :P
p.s. that is one U-G-L-Y car... i see them on ebay often... owners are usually smoking crack asking for you to take out a second mortgage to buy one
Mikey, take a look at the rear side glass that was my first tip off. Then you see the other stuff.
Top car no pinstripe, bottom has a pinstripe, wheels are different, sail panel stuff etc.
I'd take one in gunmetal grey. Screw white.
Ummm...guys...it could have been that he accidentally posted the wrong photo...it's not worth getting that upset about.
Besides, the dude's proud of his car, just like you are about yours. Let him have his spotlight here. Do you think we'd be as welcomed on a Tiffany message board?
I know a list like that is already on this thread. I know you jumped in and didn't read the whole thing. That happens to me sometimes. It really sucks when it happens.
I hope that IS his car.It would be cool to have a member who owns one of those..........cars.I wouldn't have one,but I have a few friends (Stang guys) who wouldn't own a Thunderbird (those classless s !!!).LOL.
that's it!!!!!! new project..... converting the kitty to a TIFFANY!!!!!!!!!
Hmm.. random thought.. If one were to convert a convertible cougar into a tiffany, there would be nothing left to distinguish it as a cougar except the interior.
differences that i see:
the gap in the front bumper
the wheels
the center of the spare tire
the rear windows
the window trim
that's all that i can see.
early concept :).... in all seriousness, i kinda like the front, but the back looks so wrong
These Things Are Easer To Find Than A Convertible
More
I am very sorry, had my son post the attachments and he posted file photos instead of my photos, will post correct ones tonight. The top car was the same as mine, a 1986 converted in 1987
I'll say on behalf of the people that did.... Sorry for the unnessary fesices flinging
you know those tiffanys can look alright for. i'd like to see one thats more rat rod than "tiffany's" or whatever. like no front fenders, screw all those horns and lights and throw the spare drums out the window. it could look... strange, wonder if it'd be a longer wheelbase "prowler"
