Title: Bad day
Post by: Kitz Kat on July 29, 2007, 11:46:08 AM
Freakin hood blew off  at 75 in the rain on a busy highway.got it stopped couldn't see nothing. got some damage.I wish it would of broke my winshield but no it dented the roof instead.I guess I might have to check and see if my cheap insurance will do for me.My fault to I was workin on it went to pull the brake off and pulled the hood instead forgot to push the hood back down.
Another new project.

Atleast you didn't total the car! Glad you are OK. It really sucks to here that though. Hoods aren't to bad to replace.

OUCH!!!

Well, at least those hoods are not that hard to find, no repairing that much krinkle. The roof dent does't. look too serious, you can prob'ly pull most of it out with suction cups.

wow, Glad to hear your all right. That is extremely dangerous.
I did that once about the same speed in a 67 mustang while passing somebody on a county road with a known car coming at me head on (one of those young stupid, "hmm YEA I can beat him" moments). Still scares me just thinking about it.

Sorry to see that. A paintless dent repair place should be able to take that dent out of the roof. It shouldn't cost more than $100-$150

That was quick.

The hood came up on my brother while he was borrowing my car a while back. He meant to release the parking brake and popped the hood instead. I bought the car w/o a hood release, so when he got up to ~35. SHAZAAM. It wrecked the latches but didn't hit to roof.

Now I have the "aero package" hood. Claude has seen it. :D

Is that the one with the super ram air option?:hick:

Seriously, that roof dent looks to be something that will have to be popped out the old fashioned way which requires paint.  Hood looks good.  It's amazing how the old one fit after the incident.

It just ripped the hinges.no damage where they were mounted.the hood I had I took it off before carlisle,It's a shade darker than the car.I'm leaning toward painting the whole car now.

Hahaha yes I have.  The hood looks like its trying to free float off the car.
