Title: inner tie rod replacement
Post by: 1badcougar on July 25, 2007, 10:26:24 AM
I have some play (about 3/8" - 1/2") in my passenger side inner tie rod. Is there any tricks I need to know to replace this? I have never done this, so any help would be great.

Best I tell you is to take off the boot and then loosen the thing up. There is a pin that is a hold in thing but just crank it off of there and put the new one on. Make sure to mark where the outter is marked on the inner so you can get the alignment some were near wear it was. Pretty simple. Need to get an alignment after you are done.  They do make a special tool to take off the inner but I got mine out with a Big wrench.

Go buy a 15:1 ratio rack out of a turbo coupe like I did(preformance package).I had the same problem with my drivers side very happy with it.It was only like $120 or so.
P.S. the stock one is 20:1 ratio
