the first generation, 81-90... were they rwd? i know the cosworth escorts were if not AWD. wouldnt a fox TC engine drop right in? (if it is rwd)
on a side note, refering to a really small light car.. how is the TC 4 cyl in n/a form? (havnt gotten the rule book, but i might use one if not mustangs. its a rwd 4cyl class with small cars like that wth n/a engines.)
american escorts were fwd.
cosworths are a totally different animal
Of course you could import an early 70's Ford Escort, and soup it up FTW
My mind is in the gutter.
I thought he was looking to pay for an evening's entertainment.....
yeh i figured those cosworths where a whole different animal. i mean i havnt KNOWN an escort to be RWD but cosworth was building shelby dream it seems. if i were to import a vintage car... it would have to be datsun 510 rhd with a 2 or more rotory.
to me, jdm spec hatchi 86 with 3 rotor would put any car away. p/w ratios like a sportbike. road spec race car :D
Over at turbo ford there is someone that turboed there 1.9L escort motor. I heard it rips.
my brothers escort is a 1.9 i cant belive someone would turbo it, it seems weak.
Ummmm.... I'm confused. Datsun 510s came with a 1.6L and later 1.8L four cyl. Are you going to swap a Mazda engine into it?
If you want a small RWD Ford that a 2.3 will bolt into you need only look as far as a Pinto :hick:
As for a NA TC engine, I'd guess it'd have even less power than a 2.3 Mustang engine. Not 100% certain, but I'm thinking that the turbocharged versions of the 2.3 had lower compression than the N/A version. I know (from experience) that the 2.2 turbo Dodges are absolute dogs when the turbo is taken out of the picture (or, in my personal case, the turbo outlet hose blows off because somebody forgot to tighten the clamps holding it on)
Total dogs. I drove my N/A for a while, and id have to floor it to get up to the speed limit.
I read about a 1.9 turbo in a tempo...
turbo 1.6 manifold, 2.3 tc wiring and computer. Dunno about the rest...
i ment the block and such. not as weak in power.
speaking of escorts..........
this (http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewPicture&friendID=137361399&albumId=993529) is my brother's. :shakehead
My grandparents had an '84 base and I mean base model Escort when I was little. I had the base engine, crank windows, a heater, and an AM radio. That was it. It was also a two door. Worst car ever. It always broke down and it rattled and buzzed like you wouldn't believe. I'd never want one of those, even if one could be found now. They bought it as a put-put car for around town. They also had a fully loaded '80 Olds 88 Royal for trips and *fancy* outings. The Olds was a much, much, much nicer car.
was that from my myspace? it wont work.

that what you wanted to show them?
It looked half decent in the first few pics but then it looks like he put a retarded cowl hood, wing and even ricier wheels on. Terrible, i bout sharted.
i got it to work now ugly ass wheels cowl and wing, looked OK before hand
well i've been looking into full circle track cage kits... and for what im lookin to do with the body of the car... a non-rusted 4 eyed mustang would do... i consider mustang sheetmetal a lil more valuable than a escort or pinto. i mean.. kill all the pinto's and escorts... burn them down! but.. a mustang is a mustang.
those second generation escorts(91-97?) have a bad habbit of droping valve seats.
i've got a buddy who is trying to sell one his 510's. it's just a shell that, but he's got everything to put it back together. i tried to get it from him but my wife poo poo'd the idea. only thing bad about it is it's a 4 door not a 2 door. still a nice car. if you're interested, i can put the two of you in touch.
LOL wow thats funny lookin.
