I'm putting another torque convertor in the Demon next week....ordered it today. Spoke with the guy and told him all of my mods and my target stall speed of 2800 RPM. My current one stalls at 2400 (specs list it at 22-2600). Wish me luck!
Luck... But if I was changing mine, I'd go to at least a 3200...
Paul what RPM range is on your CAM?
Cause you want the cam to come on just before the stall speed.
I agree, ideally 700rpm below peak torque.
Slopoke will be getting one too!

Paul just wondering but what converter did you use? I'm going to upgrade mine at some point and I'm looking to go with about a 2400 stall. I just want a good converter that's not going to blow up on me:hick:
Peak torque on a TFS stage 1 cam comes on around 3500-3800 depending on advace/retard of the cam, intake manifold, heads, etc. Thunderjet, here's a link to who I used: http://www.protorque.com
They called today and said it was ready, but after working all night and this morning my wife decided to let me sleep. I'll pick it up tomorrow....
7/31 -- In my trunk.....gets swapped on 8/8.....
Just an update.....Still haven't put the new one in.....Waiting for some downtime at my friend's garage so I can use his lift. Hopefully next week.
ok! It's in.....Along with a whole new exhaust system (including headers) and a tranny crossmember (The old one was cracked almost straight through). There is tire goo all over my neighborhood! Much better!
Me thinky after the intake swap I should get a 2,400 rpms stall converter next spring:evilgrin:
then do it
I don't have the $$$ right now but I will in the spring.
Cool, what's it's stall at now?
AHEM..... http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?t=15979

If you still have it after the first of the year I might get it then. Christmas is comming and I can't spend more money on the car untill I buy Christmas gifts :hick:
