Those are easily worth $10,000-15,000 dollars.Grab it while you can.
Yeah they seem rare i didnt know they made 4 door cats in early 80s!
They made wagons, too. They were essentially Fairmount/Zephyrs with Cougar badging. I brazed a new floor for a guy into an '82 Cougar wagon about twelve years ago...
There is a mid-late 70 something cougar wagon. Weird lookin fornicateer. I'll try to snag a pic of it next time I'm out and about
'81-82 non-XR-7 Cougars were on the Fairmont/Zephyr platform and were offered in 4-door and wagon models. Basically tarted-up F/Z's
The XR-7's were on the longer wb platform with the 80-82 Tbirds.
:idhitit:
Very interesting looks like a good car to snag
what are the production numbers on those? i've never seen one before.
my grandpa had one. bought it new. had the 2.3 in it. he hated it. traded it in on an 87 GM which i still have in the backyard.
if it had the n/a 2.3, i would have traded it in too. that a lot of car to be pushed by a 90 crank horse motor.
, that's clean! And, it's not far from us..... about a 2 hour drive.
Maybe we should get it and bring it to Cat Jam! :rollin:
Those were the twin to the forgettable Granadas of the same years...
Awww.... call a Whaaaambulance.
I'm just sayin'
Sorry chuck the door was open. Would you like some French Cries with that! LOL Yes it is nice to see where members are from at just a glance.
With a monster truck that is the ugliest piece of :toilet: I have ever seen.Buy it then burn it to the ground so knowbody has to look at it.:flame:
That is a pretty looking Cougar. It would look good next to my Mom's old 1982 XR-7 Fox Box:
Wow, those must have been the Dark Ages for the Cougar. I thought it was a joke or mistake. i never thought it was really a cougar....
It wasn't...just a Fairmont with a Cougar waterfall grille and nameplates. Badge engineering at its worst. :hick:
It was just a fancied up (thinly disguised even when new fairmont/zephyr). Just Ford using the Fox platform everywhere it could in the early 80's. I drove one 82-85 (company car). I had the 3.3 and it was sloooooooooooooow.
That car is what turned me on to Cougars. I would gladly give up my 93 for that 82. Well, almost gladly. I shure as hell would give up my Explorer for that 82. The two door one, that is.
what are you 100 my grandparents wouldn't even drive that turd GO:cougarsmily: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What are you? 12? At least my grandparents could form a legible, complete sentence.:flame:
Don't care if you like them or not. More for the rest of us.;)
I've actually seen a few 80-82 Tbirds/XR-7's on the road around here lately....kinda weird.
No kidding man that is not a bad lookin car of course your grandparents wouldnt drive a cougar thats what a grand marquis is for!!...lol
