Title: Options for lights???
Post by: Dansbirds on July 20, 2007, 05:34:25 PM
Ok, have an 87 Bird and have just put in new headlights which look fine with the inner marker lights but now the outer t/s lights look like .  Does anyone make replacement ones or do any other years fit? I constantly see on ebay for 89 and up but never for earlier. Thanks for any and all advice or suggestions.

Take some 600, 1000, 1500, and 2000 grit sandpaper to them, in that order. Finish up with some rubbing compound and they'll be as clear as new.

I think you can find new old stock for one of the two sides, but other than that, its used parts. Keep in mind that sanding the surface will remove any UV-protectant left on the lens, so they will fog up more often (every couple years or so). You can either continuously apply wax, or get some clear 3M UV-blocking film to apply over.

i am still undecided on the one piece look. they dont strike me "right" for our cars. aside from the fact that they dont exist for birds/cats :rollin:, i also havent seen one in person yet....
