before i start posting more regularly. my name is josh, and i live in kansas city, mo. i've had a total of 6 turbocoupes and i'm actually going to look at another one tonight after work. i've got a 91 ranger with a 2.3 turbo in it as well... that's my baby. it's nowhere near stock and i'm actually hoping to break 10's with it (probably not this season, but next for sure).
for the past 10 years i think i've only been without a thunderbird for about a year. i love these cars. the cougars are nice too, but there's just something about the mid-late 80's turbocoupes that pulls at my heart strings.
there's still a lot that i don't know, but there is also a lot that i do know... especially about the 2.3 turbo motor itself. so, if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Love the taurus. Parents bought an 86 Taurus MT5 brand new. Needless to say that car wouldn't die. Since then we've owned about 8 taurus'. Gotta love a 5 speed taurus. :D
i really do like the car, but i'm actually selling it this week to go pick up another 88 turbocoupe.:birdsmily:

id like to see a current timeslip on it as well. i havent check in on RPS in a loooong time
the truck is down at the moment, but i've got all the parts necessary to break 500 at the tire.
welcome, and enlighten us with a timeslip!
the only time slip that i've got is oooold from the stock 2.3 turbo in the 1/8th mile. it ran a 9.3 @78mph. with a 2.1 60' time.
Welcome! Nice truck.
You have a mouse in your pockett? hehe:D
Welcome T-Ranger!
I guess its my turn to welcome you, I'm down here in Arkansas City, Kansas. enjoy your stay :D
block has been bored .030" over, stroked to a 2.5l, crower 5.5" rods, wiseco 8.0:1 dished pistons, total seal rings, ported and polished head, with racer walsh turbo roller cam, 1.89"/1.59" valves, holset hx35, gutted upper, knifed lower intakes, 72lb injectors, walbro 255 fuel pump, kirban afpr. i still need some things: intercooler, huber log, megasquirt or another one of the standalones... not sure which one yet, and i still havn't decided weather i'm going to run nitrous or not.
i ran alot of 9.3s 1/8ths with 2.0-2.1 short times in my ranger. the 1/4 time on those slips is mid 14's.
thats a big jump to 10s. im sure with 500rwhp, if you can hook it, youll get there. lets here what goodies you got sittin around!
edit. beat me to the post. i shouldnt walk away mid type ;)
^^^you can say that again
those times were when the motor was bone stock save for 18psi, 15*advanced timing and 114 leaded race fuel.
you know, gumby... it was a video of your truck racing wed turners supercharged 4.0 that got me into 2.3 turbos. if it weren't for that, i'd probably have gone 302.
oh, yee of little faith... i know for a fact that it can be done... i've seen 542whp with those same mods and no nitrous.
ive got plenty of faith in the 2.3T, thats why i still have mine. im jus bustin yer ballz on the incomplete 500rwhp parts list :shakeass:
oh, and thanks for the kudos, i love that vid. im glad i saved someone from 5.slo hell :hick:
