i think they might have had that front bumper as a dealer option in 88, but i dont think its an actual elliot edition b/c i looked in the car encyclopedia that my instructor has, and they had every 83-88 t-bird, including the fila, and i would have been geeked to see a elliot edition, which there wasnt one.  the car to me looks stock besides the front bumper (that i'd LOVE to have on mine)

The Bill Elliott Edition was red/white and had a complete Kameii ground effects kit.
I like this one better, and have never seen one before now. Been watching the auction too. Since it doesn't run, transport becomes my problem....

The lower bumper cover is an aftermarket piece that was offered by Spoilers Plus back in the day. The same company that made the ground effects & spoilers for Ford Motorsport.

Good info!
Sure would have saved me two years and $$$ making a mould from the racecar version....

But finding one today may prove to be just as difficult.  ;)

Yeah, but I started mould-making about 10-15 years ago. Might have been available then....
Anyway, too late to worry about it now, and mine replaces the entire bumper-cover. It took two years of work.....

I still need to do a bit of wetsanding and polish the inside of the mould. I was stupid and moulded-in the script "THUNDERBIRD" across the front and it needs careful hand-sanding and hand-polishing around the ends of the letters. If I had it to do over again, I would make the front smooth to simplify things, and just use decals for the "THUNDERBIRD" if I wanted it there. I may do that yet. Then the tree fell across my car and I stopped working on the mould.
I had never considered making any to sell, but maybe I will finish the mould this summer and pull a few parts. I would have to try and figure my material costs on each part. Even with free labor on my part, they may be expensive, but I will look into it.
The Cup cars had no side skirts, but the newer cars are slab-sided for aero and I have considered something on the sides. I have to find a body first, then think about such stuff.
But I will never make a rear piece. They are only cosmetic and actually hurt the aero of the body. But if I could build one that included a rear diffuser for more downforce, maybe....
I like the pics of the rear wings posted lately, but I'll do the old ducktail spoiler. I used to run the Kameii front airdam and had the car lowered about 2". I have pics of me at Charlotte on the back straight going into turn 3 at a clocked 125mph and you can see the rear is light. With the new nose and higher speeds, I think it will only get worse. I was clocked at 135 on the front straight just before the start/finish line, which we used as a braking point to turn into the infield roadcourse.
Not bad for a stock 5.0 and AOD?
Now with the new motor......  :-)))

I'll start a list of anyone interested and pull the mould back out of the cobwebs and see about finishing it.
Email me and I'll put your name in a folder.
Right now I'm not making any promises, and I have no idea what a finished part will cost.
