And man am I stooopid. The base timing, SPOUT out, was at 0*. :hick: That's right, the ignition timing was at straight-up. *sigh* So now it's at 14* BTDC like it should be. I also had a 400 mile old injector start leaking. So I replaced that (no more fuel leak, yay!) as well. Then I reset the fuel pressure to 44# vacuum-line off at idle. Yes, it idles even dead cold now. I though the IAC got plugged, but when I pulled it it was really clean, no oil. The clip on the plug broke so the plug kept popping out. :punchballs: I wired a new plug on and voila! Idle fixed. So now it's:
Crank: TDC
Cam: 6* Advanced (I'm going to go play with that right now...)
Ignition: 14* BTDC
Fuel Pressure: 44# Vacuum line off at idle
Boost: 24#
Idle: 900RPM
Daily driven. Only 1 oil leak left to fix (rear main) and I am ready for the track. Oh, and some tires. 2.6 is a py 60', I'm dumping these Hankook's...
you need a wideband so you can really tune on it
trust me..
Well, I stuck the cam to 4* retarded. HOLY COW!! Now she makes 20# of boost and is just violent! I finally have the tune right. It feels great to finally have it running and driving to it's potential.
Nice, it didn't sound too good when I was there. Does it purr instead of choke/cough now?
Wow this sounds great.
Get the rear seal in there!
TED
It purrs along at 900RPM idle :hick:
Boost onset is VIOLENT. It actually breaks the rear tires loose!
Ted,
August 3/4th for PIR #2. I plan on having the new rear main, flywheel, and starter in there by then along with some tires and maybe an exhaust.
