Question: LeBra
Yea or Nea?
I liked mine when I had it on there for a few reasons. One of which was the way it contrasted with the white of my car. Another reason is that I didn't get any stone chips or badly stuck on bug carcasses on my bumper/ header panel. edit, plus it was an easy fix for the severely chipped front bumper I had.
Now for the bad, those things act like a lint trap on a dryer trapping all kinds of dirt and debris on the underside. This will scratch the paint. The other bad part is fading. Your paint will fade some in the sun regardless whether the car is stored inside most of the time. When you remove the bra, the car will have tan lines for sure.
See my post here (http://"http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showpost.php?p=151547&postcount=6") and you'll see what I mean. Ignore the chipped paint on the bumper, but you can see the amount of dirt that gets trapped and the fading.
Also the TC hood I have on there now was silver and the car had a bra on it. Not only was the silver paint faded but it was cracked as well under where the bra was.
Just some food for thought.
I had one on my 97 Bird (car was black) and my corvette. Did wonders for protection but I never really liked the look. While working for Mercedes Benz met a guy that started a company which made a clear invisible bra. It more or less is a see thru cover that is applied directly to the car and adhears to the shape. Similar to the protectivesheet on the display of a new cell phone. Anyhow once it was dry you couldnt tell it was there and it protected perfectly.
Yeah, I was just thinking about how I dont like the look of bras on cars, and how a clear one would be pretty neat, and then I read the above post.
I rule the “protection” idea completely out..
Why protect it by not letting anybody see it, what exactly is one saving it for?
Now if somebody put the bra on when they drove then took it off for car shows or something like that then yea I get it.. But I can’t say I have ever done that (and I have had bra’s) and I have never seen anybody do that.
Sooo since what happens is they go on and never come off until they are trash (that’s when you find what 5.0willgo found) then it would make since to me to do something that would last longer than Vinyl…. Basically last as long or longer than the Paint.
Let’s see the paint fade under THIS BRA (http://"http://www.rhinolinings.com/") :flip:
Needless to say voted "Nea" btw!
so much for the cooling ducts :)
i dont like bras on anything. :hick:

There aren't enough letters in the word "no" to properly convey the no-ness of my answer :hick:
Seriously. Rock chips, nicks, dings, etc would still look better than hanging a big black diaper off the nose of your car. I agree with Jim - what's the point of protecting a beautiful front end if you're going to hide it behind something that's hideous?
*looks at poll results*
Ouch
I guess they are nice if you are trying to cover up some damage. Other than that same as my poll answer nea!
i've never seen one car with a bra that looked good.. maybe an oldschool miata, but thats it.
I declare the neas to be the winners.
I was never fond to leBra's either. A friend gave it to me so I put it on to have a look. The only reason I did that is I wanted to remove the plate and bracket (not required here) but the paint under the bracket is badly discoloured.
LeBra is now off and the plate bracket is back on with the Virginia plate Tom gave me atleast until I can get the car painted.
Whats with the 2 "ears" on the hood part?
Suppose to hold that edge down to keep it from
~~~~FLAPPIN~~~~
You haven't seen my aunt. You must have seen that internet cartoon with the old lady at the bus stop standing next to a guy wearing a shirt that says "Show me your tits", and she lifts up her trench coat to show him hers, dangling about her knees? Well, that's my aunt. One look is enough to convince anyone that bras should be mandatory...
...Or, to put it another way - this could be my aunt, but those aren't nuts: :punchballs:
*EDIT* I found that cartoon on my computer:
Who voted yea. i had one that i got free i put it on my 87 cougar for about .01 seconds than ripped it right off and burned it.
Screw the bra, I want to hear more driving impressions regarding the handicap 5 speed conversion!
LOL! I'm pretty comfortable driving with the controls now. I've even started driving a little more agressively, winding it out to 5K before shifting. I bypassed the BCS this weekend because I was only getting about 9PSI and I'm now getting 16-17 PSI. What a difference. I even put the car into a powerslide yesterday.
I'm still keeping my eye open for a cheap electric vacuum pump to help with the power assist. Also I have to tidy up the trunk so I can get my wheelchair back there - right now the car is effectively a 2 seater with the wheelchair in the back seat.
What I have found though is that I have to remove my shoes when I drive so they don't get under the clutch pedal. :punchballs:
I personally think they look dumb as hell. As for protection, they cause more damage than they prevent.
Leave it off unless you frequently follow dumptrucks coming from the quarry down gravel roads. Even then I'd have to REALLY think it over.
I said yea but you need the hood section I have. It doesn't have the big verticle pieces and has a red bird sewen into it.
