Just curious as to what you think my car will run in the 1/4 with this setup?
It's an 87 TC with a 5.0HO swap
93 cobra intake(stock,no port work)
70mm bbk throttlebody
Fms 24lb injectors
1/2" fms heat spacer
1.7 ratio crane cobra roller rockers
80mm pro-m maf
Edelbrock 60379 aluminum heads(stock no port work)
Flowtech shortie equal length 1 5/8 headers
Mustang mac 2 1/2 in exauste(modded to work on bird)
A9L mustang eec
Stock 3.73s and an AOD
155lph walbro fuel pump.
I was hoping for 13s :grinno: ,what do you guys think?
You've got the right parts to go 13s, mainly depends on which cam are you using and the stall of the tq converter.
I'm using the Trick Flow heads(and cam) but otherwise my combo is similar to yours..With a stock converter and Stang exaust system my best was a 14.08@101 (I think it would have made the 13s with better traction, the 60ft sucked at 2.2). With a 2600 stall and good traction it popped off a 13.56@101(1.95 60ft) and with a full 2 1/2 exaust it pulled the time in my sig on a 1.90 short...
BTW these times were under ideal conditions, 50* or less and high baro pressures. Also I had on a short belt to bypass the P/S and even had the alternator unplugged on the 13.11 run. In average conditions(75* or so) and with the long belt, high 13.3s are the norm.
Yea i'm hoping for as much,i do have a slightly better stall than stock(2200 stall).
I will be using the stock cam, with the 1.7 cobra rockers it should make an approx lift of .477in .477exh.
I hear the stock cam is capable of some pretty good hp and it also has a pretty broad torque curve,plus i shouln't have any driveability problems.
Assuming you ain't racin' at 7500 ft, if you can can get traction to pull some 2.0 or better short times, 13s should be a piece of cake...

I have almost equivalent mods on my 89 aside from heads... I had a horrible 60' and I spun 2nd.. so with traction you'd probably see mid-high 13s...
13s shouldnt be a problem if you got sticky rubber. Any suspension mods?
No not as of yet the only thing i've done to the suspension is to install battle boxes in the torque boxes to strengthen them otherwise it's all stock.
Any suggestion that will help my times?
I really don't want toi run slicks nor do i have access to any right now,not interested in supjecting my 17 year old rfame to that kind of stress.
If you've every seen torque boxes tear themselves apart it's not pretty.
