Title: 83, 5.0 Hearing a ticking noise for the passenger side of the engine
Post by: Southdown on July 10, 2007, 02:10:21 AM
I'm not mechanically inclined, but, there is this ticking from the engine... No idea what it was, too loud to be the lifters, Heck I can hear it inside my heritage, and other than that, I can barely tell if the  thing is on... But yeah, if anyone has encountered this let me know...

thanks

Eric

Blew your exhaust manifold gasket.  Or it is a leak at the collector.

Sounds like an exhaust leak to me, too.
They can often have a tapping sound.

Probably a slight exhaust leak, bad gasket,a crack, etc.  Usually a leak will sound the worse when the engine is cold and under slight acelleration.
