I know the sensors are different, but, what's the difference between the Taurus SHO V-8 Mass Air meter and a stock Stang meter? They actually look alike to me.
I dunno, but many are exactly the same... I ran a MAF from a '96 I-6 Econoline on the 4.6 Grand Marquis, worked perfectly... No CEL, No drivability problems, and made same gas mileage as before the orignal went screwy...
Later I figured out the original was just dirty, so I cleaned it and swapped it back... .
Not that it answers your question, but a mustang 5.0 meter and a SH) V6 meter are exactly the same part. I have one of each that I was harvesting parts from for another project.

'96-'97 SHO MAFs interchange with '96-'98 4.6 Mustangs
'98-'99 SHO MAFs don't interchange with any Mustang
Well, this SHO meter is from a V-8 car.It has the 3 mounting bolt holes under it.It looks like it would work.I was just curious.I actually want a bigger one since I'll be going Mass Air very soon.I was guessing 70mm or so,set up for 19# injectors.I just need lots of info on Mass Air before I do the swap.
The only V8 SHOs are from 1996-1999. Which is why I gave you the interchange information.
Unless you plan on pegging the MAF, there isn't much power to be gained by stepping up in size.
im sure you can find a stang meter on the very cheap on some of the mustang boards.
