hey im doing the tc rear swap and im wondering if a 88 tc master cylinder and brake booster will work on my swap or will i need a cobra master cylinder and brake booster? thansk in advanced.
It would but it's a big bulky piece requiring extra wiring and has very expensive parts...
BTW, even with my big 13" fronts and 11.375" lincoln rear discs, I have a fox booster... I had a 94 cobra booster but it was HUGE and would have needed lots of hole elongation to clear the shock tower (but on the other hand, would have given a softer pedal).
I think in the future, I'm gonna get a hydraboost and m/c from sn95 mustang and put that on my TC. Those new hydraboost systems are supposed to give a far better feel and response than vac assist... Oh, and they save a lot of room!
so is my turbo coupe m/c and booster gonna work for him or not?
Well, I'm no expert, but I just tore that system out of my car last spring (along with about 30 lbs of wiring and computers - most having to do with ABS and Ride control).
The problem is, I believe this is an electronic hydraboost system. Meaning you will have to add circuits to power it (maybe more). Could be confusing and not really worth it if you ask me.
1. tbirdera, I'd suggest going vac assist as the easiest solution...
2. Boss-man, hold on the that m/c. If you know it's working I believe you can get some good money for it when someone elses fails and they want an all original system... Just a thought, but someone else should chime in as well.
i guess i wont be needing that master cylinder
IN a non TC??? Not without about 40ft of wiring...
ok so i guess we will just pull it and keep it as a spare
