Title: Shifter install
Post by: Kitz Kat on July 03, 2007, 05:41:00 PM
The temp plate in the tech section,What does it mean it's plus size? It looks to small after I printed it. I'm cuttin the hole tonight. Does anyone know the measurment front to back on the temp.side to side would help to.

The hole really isn't very big for the shifter to go through.Probably better to cut a little small and work your way up.I did the floor shifter conversion on old Blue about 8 years ago.The Sport already had one.I also added the tranny tunnel hump that the shifter bolts to,that way,the shifter sits right in the console. No promises, but I may be able to take that piece from the Blue Bird for you if you don't already have one.I don't know if it will come out easily, but I can try.If I can,I'll let you know.

Not plus size (that's for tires and chunky ladies), plus shaped, like the + on your keyboard. It's the shape of the hole you need to cut.

The whole shifter doesn't go through, just the pointy-downy parts. The rest sits on top.

Ooooo, we got measurements! Here's a picture of the flat-topped plate that is glued+screwed to the tunnel in regular floor-shift cars, still attached to a chunk of the tunnel (pic is upside-down, dash is at the bottom), followed by the measurements I just took of the hole. Good enough?
