I just finished watching it, and boy is it AWESOME. Also on a side note there is an 87-88 Cougar in the car lot that bumblebee is at (as old camaro).
Just had to share.
I just got back and agree that it was freakin awesome!
I also noticed the Cougar. If I remember correctly it was a pale blue or gray. :]
My youngest boy and I are going tonight. It must have opened earlier up there where you guys are.Tonight it opens for our viewing pleasure. Was it as good as it looks on the commercials?
Seriously, I give it like a 7 out 5, completely freaking amazing  . This is coming from someone who likes to nit pick about movies like this, and knows WAAAAYYYYY too much about the Transformers backstory and universe in general. Honestly, despite the artistic and creative "changes" they made, It was quite possibly one of the best executed adaptations I've ever seen. The only thing that could have made it better was if I could have been sitting there nekked eating a 72oz steak. Seriously. ;)
I agree, a must see.
TED
mmmmmmm, Megan Fox. :tg:
I am thinking of going back tonight it was just an awesome movie, with a good bit of humor.
A MUST SEE!!
mmmmmmm, Rachael Taylor :tg:
mmmm.. donuts
Speaking of donuts, is everyone looking forward the simpsons movie?
Mmmmmmm,Megan Fox and Rachael Taylor with a side order of donuts.
Your all dork!
Except me and vinnietbird we have kids that we can claim wanted to see it so we "had to go". :D
Yep,Slamedcat is right,I "had" to go watch it with my little man tonight. It was awesome..............I mean,my boy thought it was awesome.I somehow tolerated it.LOL.
It feels good to have kids at times. I mean how else would you not look like an idiot watching cartoons on saturday morning without them. LOL
I saw that Cougar also. Its a pale blue. I kept telling my friends "I want that", and then about shiznit when the windows blew out.
I saw it last night as well. I thought it was awesome! I was surprised by the amount of comedy in it too. That was a nice touch.
Well you're all singular and possessive, so what the hell is your point?
:hick:
LMAO! you should join my task force.. http://www.myspace.com/theyourepolice
only if I can be "Vice President In Charge of Definitely"...
...Or maybe manager of the "Too/to/two" division...
:D
Deal, Mr. V.P. ;)
As long as someone can keep my commas in line. I get a little comma, comma, crazy. (you thought I was going to say Chameleon, didn't you?)
I've tried to see this already, but my sister made me promise to take her when I go. I'm glad to hear some real fans give it the thumbs up.
Great movie overall. They made the plot a little extra cheesy in some spots, but the special effects were the best I'd ever seen, bar none. I'd go and see it again, just for the eye candy.
Lol I laughed at the part where they show what's under the hood of Bumblebee for the first time. It's like this badass race block with an ITB setup, and she's all like nice double pumper carb. Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that ITB intake manifolds had to be fuel injected?
Overall a really good movie though.
Well, I finally joined the rest of the world and saw the movie today. It was freaking INCREDIBLE! My only major complaint was that aside from Optimus, Megatron, Soundwave, Bumblebee and Starscream I didn't recognize any of the robots. I know they changed a lot of them around to better suit a 2007 movie (Soundwave being a CD boombox instead of a cassette player, Bumblebee being the Camaro instead of the VW, and Megatron being the whatever he was instead of a gun, f'rinstance) but I didn't even recognize the names. I guess my memory ain't that good after all.
It's a movie based on a cartoon based on 1980's puppiesanese robot toys based on an indy comic book. If it wasn't cheesy I'd have been disappointed :hick:
It was actually a "
High rise double pumper carb". They screwed that up so badly I almost thought I was watching an episode of the Dukes of Hazzard.
I just wonder how much GM paid to have its Hummers, Topkicks, Solstices and Camaros pimped in the movie (while the Mustang was portrayed as a bad guy - who lost to a Camaro, no less)? I found it ironic that parked right next to the Camaro in the car lot was a yellow VW Beetle - the
original Bumblebee. And teh Camaro Bumblebee even belted it one with his door.
One thing conspicuously absent was ricer cars. I'm really surprised that given the target audience of that movie (and the puppiesanese roots of its subject) not one Honda, Mitsubishi, Mazda or Toyota was featured. Not a single puppiesanese based robot (except maybe Soundwave, but he wasn't a car). They were all domestics (and mostly GM).
Nitpicking aside, though, it was easily one of the best movies I've seen in awhile. I'll likely be buying it on DVD when it's released...
^^^ now this IS just me, but personally I couldn't give a shiznit that it was a "GM commercial" and likewise no imports. Actually I LIKED that. Made me feel good inside. A movie sticking up for the homemade stuff. LOVED the TopKick and the fire-rescue Hummer. To me those were just bad-ass. I think any car-guy/motorhead should see the movie, and that likely biases my perception of "how good" the movie was because of all the American iron rolling across the screen, but you know what I dont care!
I mean come on, the part where Bumblebee as the 77 camaro is tryin' to hook him up, man that was classic. I REALLY appreciated that one. I wanna go see it again! Just might too.
Also liked the scene in Qatar simply because the military force just kept increasing like crazy to destroy the thing. "BRING THE RAIN!!!" <--good quote right there. Bigass plane starts circling PEW! PEW! PEW! PEW! *massive explosions on ground*.
"The boy's pheromone levels suggest he want to mate with the female" :giggle: Love the look on her face.
Just to help along, that wasn't Soundwave, his name was Frenzy. They wanted Soundwave, just wasn't enough in the budget. To help offset the Camaro deal there was a old VW bug next to the Camaro in the dealership's lot. Also the form in which you saw Megatron in is supposed to be based off his "Cybertron" form.
I have seen it a total of 3 times, and about 30 times at different parts.
Helps when you work at the movie theater!
The look on
his face was better :rollin: I really liked the many humourous points in the movie.
Don't get me wrong - I'm not saying I disliked the ricers not being there, I actually appreciated it. I also liked the GM iron displayed, and the Mustang was cool too (I swear you could hear the faint whistle of a tubocharger). I just thought it was (refreshingly) strange to see no F&F-type cars there given their popularity.
Be interesting to see the vehicles featured in the next one (and there were enough loose ends that I'm sure there will be a next one)...
Yeah good point I'd be there is another one in the works. Great idea IMO though even if it wasnt theyd still do it, Hollywood can't resist milking something for ALL it's worth until people subsequently HATE the series :giggle:

That looks more like a mechanical fuel injection or some side draft webers to me.
There is a second one coming. It is based on Soundscream finding Unicron and Unicron rebuilding the Decepticons. If you stayed for the credits you see Soundscream leave Earth. I wish we still had it in theatres, I only got to see it twice!
On another note, 9 days, and one of the most amazing movies is released on DVD, 300!!!! w00t! I bought a 300 shirt from HOT TOPIC yesterday.
I can watch it as many times as I want now. :hick: :D
Obviously sarcasm doesn't make it across the internet quite as well as I had hoped. What I meant was that she
SAID "Nice high rise double pumper carb". Obviously, a "high rise double pumper carb" does not exist, which is why I said they screwed that up so badly I thought I was watching the Dukes, a show that was notorious for screwing up mechanical references. "Hey, Bo, the General's losing power!" "Yeah, Luke, he's got a blown
oil gasket!"
Ha she sounds like a Duke! I've not seen the movie yet, and seeing this one clip has already ruined it for me..
No it hasn't, no where near it.
that's kinda like the same "car lingo" they used in Gone In 60 Seconds.
my wife and i just got back from seeing it. oh, my god! it's great! it follows the original story almost to a tee. they did a hell of a job with this one.
Did they do the theme music?
