Title: Tire Size
Post by: GrannysBird on July 02, 2007, 03:15:18 PM
Hey guys I'm seriously contemplating doing the 11 inch brake upgrade while my front suspension is taken apart and what I wanted to know is what size tires I should be looking at for my turbo coupe rims. What is the largest you can go without rubbing, or given the fact that my motor is basically stock right now (and will be for the quite some time) should i just stick with some 225/60/16's? the price difference between the 225/60's and the 225/50's in a bridgestone potenza are quite big.

You don't want to go to a 225/50. That will not increase your width, only decrease your tire height. A 275/50 will give you about the same tire height with a 2 1/2" width increase.

I want to go a 245-50 in the front and a 275-50 in 15's for front and rear. The first number is how wide, the 2ed number is section width ( side wall) and the 3rd number is wheel size FWIW

245/50R16 is about right for a 7in rim because any larger and you run into side wall flex. Even the tire companys say 245/50 is as wide as you want to go on a 7in rim. Plus a 275 you ware going to have fitment problems on the front.
