That was on Ebay wasn't it? I kept seeing it being reposted but no one bid on it. Pretty Sharp. How does a low mileage 3.8 run anyway? Any problems you can tell of?

It was on EBay.The guy had a problem with his ebay account someone hacked into it and kept relisting it. the guy has a few people buy it now and actually pay for it so he had to go through and refund them. anyway it runs pretty good a few small problems the starter needs to be shimmed out you can hear it not disengaging all the way and it has a small exhaust leak from where they installed the new cat back exhaust and the old pipe. Other than thatit rides real nice and smooth my 87 I usedto own didnt handle like this one does. One last problem it has a slight hesitation I am hoping it is just the fuel filter is clogged but we will see.

Thank you I really like it. Im sure I will have some questions for you guys about this. i thought I knew about cars btu I have tot ake my hat off to you guys I dont know anything in comparison to the people on this site. I can change a motor a tranny but as to everyhting little i guess i dont know jack listening to yous on here is amazing. The car has a hesitation I changed the fuel filter the PCV and it is still there. Could a exhaust leak cause a hesitation?? Ive yet to do a tune up which will be coming.

You know I was just thinking, a set of Turbines done in gold in the same fashion as the 20th Annys would look awesome on that car.

Throw a set of snowflakes on it.  I bet they would look better than turbines.  But you gota get Cougar head center caps for them.

I have to agree. That looks great, in & out. You think that the hesitation could be a vacuum leak. My 88' has a little hesitation also, and when it rains, it won't idle on it's own until it warms up. I'm far from being a mechanic, but have had my more than fair share of car issues. Let me know if that's what you find out.

I havent really got to check for vac leake but will be on the to do list. one more thing I forgott o add about the car A/c blows ice cold which would make this the first car (except for my 99 expedition which is only mine by the fact I pay for it the wife drives it) that has a/c that works.

Really, really nice LS there. Gold turbines all the way.
Wow, after all the times this has been on ebay, I am so glad it ended up here. Take good care of it, that is a nice one.

I tell you what I would do.  I'd do what I did to my "Special Edition" :)  Lower it a tad, buttstuffog cluster and a v6 sn95 T-5 swap. :)  I agree with Karl, I think gold turbines would look good on that car.  Keep the 3.8, with the 5 speed and the stock 3.27 gears I got pretty good fuel mileage.

Another wheel idea, you could go with gold ARE-style wheels like I have on my '85 (http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2492198).

I don't know about a whole lot of modifications though, that is a nice LS. I would be hesitant to change much beyond simple bolt-ons. It's a full console semi-low mileage, nice condition, stock LS with special edition badging.
cougar1car, can you tell if any paintwork has been done to anything other than the rear bumper trim?

I wouldn't be able to resist doing the buttstuffog cluster... its so much better.

As for wheels I have no clue what im doing yet on her. Engines im not sure its staying like it is for now. Cougars 2 go the only thing that has been painted is the rear and front bumper cover they were yellowing, I just dont understand He repainted the front one correct and when he got to the back he got lazy and repainted over the goldstripe down the center of the molding?? I dont know why but ill figure it out. Thank for all the kind words about the car im glad to see the car come here as well. The only one thing majorly wrong with the car is under the trunk lid he said there was a little rust spot well his lsttle rust spot goes clear across the trunk. Which dont bother me too much anyway because I despise the luggage rack so im just going to replace the trunk lid.

One other thing I was thinking about was I thought all 88's had the side marker lights in front fenders?? This one dont I may be wrong but I thought all 88's did. Which again dont bother me too much because my opionion I didnt like them anyway.

Leave, the wheels and the whole rest of the car alone for a while, the factory made a  good car. I would like to see how the v6 and the v8 compare in MPG. If that thing gets less then 18mpg i would start with engine/drivetrain and leave the appearance alone.

Looks SWEET! wish my wheels were in the good of shape, too many gravel roads around here.

Also, the luggage rack, or Grandma Rack as i call it does help keep a low profile look. No 2 foot tall wings for me

Well I will keep you updated on the MPG and nothing is getting fdone to the car as of now. Trunk is going luggage rack is not for me im going with the no wing look. or no anything for that matter.
