Question: Additional Top 25 ET Categories
Now that we have a Top 25 ET List that has 25 ET's in it... :D !!
It's recently come up that maybe a few categories should be added. Please vote in the pole and I will make the popular changes. ;)
i dont see a pole? lol
poll ;)
I was typing :hick:
I think that you should expand the top 25 list as long as it needs to be. Anybody that takes their Fox T-bird/Cougar to the track should be allowed to be on the list.
Does the Cad-T-Bird fit under big block or is that only limited to Ford Big blocks?
Keep up the great work, this is fun.
TED
Interesting question. I don't know if this board is more about the cars, or the brand of power they have. We are certainly more "friendly" then most. I personally would have just thrown you in the big block class.
We have what, 3 or 4 mod motors going into Birds right now? Do i stick them in with the small blocks or do they get another class? What about John and I's LSx powered Bird project?
I say piss on brand X... If I want to see 1/4 mile times for those cars I'll go look for them... This board is about one chassis and one chassis alone. I would pull the tow thing out because that makes no sense...
I voted a Brand X.... :D
I voted for a "other" Ford class... But have no problem including a brand "X" class...
As far as Ted's Caddy Bird, stick it in with the BBs... It's still a Bird no matter what engine is in it... Guess this could get touchy if we start getting Small block Chevys etc bumping the Fords... In that case I say "other" class...
Ted does have a point about including any Bird/Coug that's been to the track... But limiting to the top 25 would tend to make one work to get better times... Maybe there could be a "Hall of Shame"(or similar) class for 26-down??? Also I'd say you need to "renew" your standings every couple of years with updated times to stay on the list... After that amount of time lot of people have gotten different cars or moved on to other interests...
I questioned 5.8 Fast Cat being on the list, as the times were with a car that no longer exists... Surely the new car will be at least as quick, but as yet it's a unknown...
5.8 fast cat is reusing all of the major components from his first car on this one. As soon as he makes any pass with "#2" the 10.90 from "#1" is off of the list, as they are essentially the same car.
The reason I separated out into "classes" was just so people didn't have to jockey for the Top 25 Overall. I don't have to worry about being "fast" because there will always be a Top 25 Turbo Coupe list, etc.
It seems that the "Tow Vehicle" class is going bye-bye as nobody cares about it. However, there is a strong support for a small "Top 10 Other Fords" for our members with Lincolns, Grand Marquis, FWD Cougars, and MN12 cars.
That's the direction I'm heading in. Replace Tow Vehicles with Other Fords. I'll give it a few days for you guys to chime in.
I agree. An "everybody wins" policy would kinda defeat the purpose of a Top 25 list. There's a whole forum for listing your times in.
Personally it doesn't matter to me what classes there are. I'm not the one keeping up with all of this. But since your asking, I vote "Brand X".
YES now when and if i ever race the lincoln i can post it up here!
I say keep the tow vehicle list, and add whatever list you want. Having tow vehicles up there aint hurting anything. Even if nobody has raced theirs yet, doesnt mean they wont.
You could add a daily driver category. Many of us don't use our birds/cats on a daily basis and I'm sure there's a few of us who have ran our commuter cars. Although, I'm not going to face that embarrassment.
2.0 Hyundai FTW!!!! :hick:
I'm with Claude on this one.
why not leave it as is?
I love how Claude has seemed to become the boards biggest cynic. He never used to be that way...
Whooz clod? I voted more Fords.
