When I burn mp3 discs using iTunes it puts the songs into seperate folders by artists. It should just have one big folder with 80+ songs, not 60+ folders for each artist. Anyone know how to correct this or a better program taht will work the way I want?
How are you compiling the songs that you want to burn? Are you making a new playlist, putting the songs in, then burning the playlist? That *should* not add folders like you're describing.
The only other way I can think to get around your problem would be to open the iTunes preferences (Edit > Preferences...), and UNcheck the box next to "Keep iTunes Music folder organized" right before you make the playlist. That should prevent folders from being created.
Yes, I just create a new playlist, and drag the songs from my library to the playlist.
EDIT: I had already unchecked that.
I don't know what else to say then...I've burned a few MP3 discs from iTunes and never had that issue, but it's always been from one of my Macs. I don't know how the PC version of iTunes handles things. One would think it's the same way but maybe not.
What version of iTunes are you using?
EDIT: I just pulled a few MP3 files from the Mac over to the PC, put them in a later version of iTunes (7.1.0), burned an MP3 disc, and there are no folders on the directory contents. I checked the disc on the Mac and the PC. So...I really don't know what's going on. Maybe an upgrade to the latest version will help...?
