Title: Timing advance in C3W1 computer.....
Post by: V8Demon on June 25, 2007, 08:01:01 PM
I know that the C3W1 computer I'm using is a revision of the A9P.  I was wondering if it had the same timing advances at the same RPM's.

A major difference between the A9P and A9L is that the P advances timing a bit more at low RPM's (under 1600) to compensate for the auto trans a bit.  I was just curious if that remained the same in the C3W1.  I cannot find much info on this either way.

Also does anyone know what the terms GUFA, GUFB, and GUFC mean in relation to EEC-IV ecu's?  I've seen the term used, but have no idea what it relates to (the A9P is GUFB, the C3W1 is GUFC).

I can't answer your questions, but I can tell you this... My Bird runs EXACTLY the same on a A9P vs the C3W1... It other words it still bucks it's ass off at 1500 RPM... My cure was to switch to the A9L... Local tuner guy says the lean cruse is more aggressive on the automatics...

As far as ASS-O-METER, they all feel the same on acceleration(light or heavy)and car runs the same times...

You can view the GUFB in this (http://"http://foxtbirdcougarforums.com/newreply.php?do=newreply&noquote=1&p=156979") thread.

The GUFB is equivalent to a revision number.
Example:
GUFA = ver 2.1.0
GUFB = ver 2.1.1
GUFC = ver 2.1.2

The actual strategies are very close to the same, the main difference between the A9X and C3W1 is in the scalars and tables. To actually see the guts of your EEC (or whatever EEC you wish) go to here (http://"http://tweecer.com/downloads.htm") and download RT130A9. You also need to install the Borland Database Engine also.

Once you install it, you can "load" different EECs and compare timing tables.
No, there is not any way to directly compare them. Elbow grease is the only way.

Really I havn't had any problems with mine. She seems to run fine at all RPMs.
