i probably spelled it wrong, but every time i write a message in a post and hit the " button (it lets me shift and hit the " but won"t let me use the apostrophy), it goes down to the "find word" option at the bottom of firefoxes browser..... is this a firefox setting i can change, or is it just a quirk in the site?

Might be a keyboard problem - have you tried it in Word, Outlook, etc?
yeah... that's weird... it worked everywhere else except on the internet... so i reloaded firefox and voila''''''''' i guess it works again..... weird..... but thanks, i wouldn't have reinstalled if you hadn't confirmed it worked :)
