Heck, Its ALMOST worth that bid for the Members Only jacket :D

The question is, where are you going to find another with 6,000 miles if that what you want? Supply and demand (although I doubt it sells at that). Also, that car looks to have been stored pretty poorly. The condition of the wheels, and rust on the valve cover makes me think it was just under a tarp or something in a shed. My concern would be havi ng to replace a ton just to make it look like a 6K mile car.

Yea, I agree, it looks like it was sitting somewhere damp for a while. When I bought my 83TC, it was sitting for a long time and even the switches for the windows and doors were oxidized making them difficult to operate.  Even though it only shows 6000 miles it could take some time and effort to get everything working correctly.

There is one a town inbetween me and Ifixyawata. I need to get over there sometime and check it out. Not a bad car and I hear they are rare. Starting bid is a bit hogh but it looks like it's worth it

I believe that car was for sale at Spring Carlisle. It is a beautiful car and does look brand new.  I think he was asking $15,000.

You can see the drums look rather rusty.  I'm betting the rest of the undercarriage is similar.  NOT a $10k car.

Not necessarily correct.
From a “collector standpoint” Original Unrestored condition is often better than fully restored original. IF this guy finds a Loaded TBird Collector that wants’s it. THIS would be the one.
I think you are all looking at it as what it’s worth to you. Not worth 10k to me either, I see another $1000 car I would buy for a daily driver.

But lets say Jay Leno decided he wanted an entire collection of Tbirds, from 1955 to present, what would this Original Unrestored 30th Anny. be worth to him?

It all depends on IF
The guy is fishing, and he’s NOT fishing for us.

the point?

edit:
Ahh, I see a new person.
Yes we were already watching that bird in another thread.
That auction (as well as this one) has ended and it appears reserve was not met same as the 85 30th Anny

“Asking price” = $10k

“Selling Price” = No Sale!

Just fishermen!
