guys i wanted to change the electronic cluster to an anologue cluster. I took it all apart and i need some help. i connected he grey harness to the back of it and then it was not reading correctly. On the coolcats site it says were some wires need to be on the plug but do i just pull out the wires from the plug and place it in a different area on the plug? im not sure i rather be safe then ruining a good harness. thanks in advanced.
can someone explain this http://www.coolcats.net/media/elec2tc.pdf to me. Do i pull out wires form each plug and use the grey plug only? what to do??
guys i used wat was on the cool cats site about the swap, and im failing on this. Some things work on the gauged and others do not. But on the site were it says the plug color or number of plugs is not always correct. What can i do to fix this. My fuel , rpm, tach , oil, temp sender not working properly. the things that are working are blinkers, illumination, turn signals.
Yes.
Ford does silly things, like changing wire colors without telling anyone. You were looking at the "elec2tc.pdf", right? Do you have the FULL-electronic dash, like that file describes, or the "base" dash, with digital speedo, and needles for gas and temp, as described in "base2tc.pdf"?
Assuming you have the FULL-electronic, here's a pretty picture, using the same info from elec2tc.pdf. You pull out the marked wires from the 2 plugs in the car, and arrange them in the single plug that goes into the new TC cluster. Ignore the colors I use, they're just to make it easier to identify where each wire goes. #2 and #10 don't get any wires.
.
Some of your sending units may be different too. Your fuel level sender is definitely different.

i ave all the sneder changed cause i took my bros 5.0 out of his t bid which had anologue and i changed the fuel sender a while ago. I put the correct colors in places but it still didnt work. All i had working was the blinkers, illumination. high beam lights. brake, door ajar. COULD IT BE THAT THE CLUSTER IS SHOT? CUZ WHEN I HAD THE PLUG that was for the digi cluster i didnt repin the wires yet just to see wat happenes and when i put it to the tc cluster the rpm was just working on the tach side. help!
